QR Code located on your dashcam (may be on the right side).
Search for "Redtiger" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. - Turn on Wi-Fi on the dashcam; the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password will appear on the screen.
- Open the Redtiger app > Go to the Wi-Fi connection interface according to the steps > Find the dashcam's Wi-Fi > Enter the password to connect. (Default password is 12345678)
- After successfully connecting to Wi-Fi, return to the app to use it.
View/Download/Delete/Share Video
- Click the icon on the main interface to view video and image files.
- Long press the video file to select it, then choose whether you want to download or delete it.
- Return to the app's home page and select Album > Open and watch / share.
Playback on Computer
RedTiger recommends using the REDTIGER Player as the correct video player to view/play videos. It can also display Google Maps.
You can download it for free on Mac or Windows from the following link: https://www.redtigercam.com/pages/gps-player
You can choose different playback modes in Settings > Video Playback Mode. You can set playback speed, language, map, and various other functions.
The player interface typically shows:
- Video playback window (front)
- Video playback window (rear)
- Map and route display
- Playback control panel
- Speed and driving status indication
- Playback list
Note: If front and rear road recording video files are recorded synchronously and loaded into the playback list at the same time, they can be played back separately in split screens on the left and right. When you find the desired video file, press and hold the left mouse button and drag the desired files into the video playback window to play it.
Installation
Warning: Ensure all cameras and wires are connected before powering on the camera screen, otherwise the camera may not function correctly. Please follow the instructions below for the initial installation of the RedTiger dashcam. Scan the QR code on the right to view the installation tutorial video.
Install Memory Card
Insert the memory card into the dashcam, ensuring it is oriented correctly with the gold contacts facing the dashcam screen. Push the memory card in until it clicks into place.
Mount Front Camera
Peel the electrostatic sticker from the mount and transfer it to your desired location. Attach the front camera to the electrostatic sticker and press firmly to secure it.
Mount Rear Camera
- Open the vehicle's trunk, remove screws, and take out the plastic panel.
- Open the license plate light and pass the rear camera cable through the opening where the license plate light is located.
Note: This rear camera is specially designed to tolerate various environmental conditions and is best suited for exterior installation. The lens parameters are set assuming exterior use, so it is recommended to install the camera above the license plate frame. If this is not possible, a license plate frame mount is available to resolve this issue.
Wiring Layout in Vehicle
- The car charger connects to the cigarette lighter socket.
- Connect the other end of the car charger to the dashcam.
- Use the included tool to route the power cable along the front windshield and headliner, tucking it down the A-pillar to avoid obstructing the driver's view and creating a hazard.
- Connect the rear cable interface to the rear camera cable interface.
- Route the rear camera cable along the gaps between the front windshield and headliner, between the body and roof on the passenger side, and between the rear seats and headliner.
Troubleshooting
Why is there no GPS signal?
- Disconnect and clean the cable and port for any dust that may have accumulated around the dashcam. Check for interference in your car, such as metallic film on the windshield, a radio antenna, or a radar detector.
- Move your car to an open area. Observe if the GPS icon on the screen turns green and displays GPS information.
- Once the GPS locks onto a signal, a satellite icon will appear in the bottom left of the screen. Green indicates positioning, while white indicates no positioning.
How to disable the dashcam's startup/shutdown sound?
Navigate to Settings > Click Tone > Select Off. When the click tone is disabled, the startup and shutdown sounds will also be turned off.
Why does my dashcam occasionally display "Card error" or "Please format memory card"?
Please follow the steps below to check:
- Go to Settings > Format Reminder to check if the regular format reminder is enabled.
- Format the memory card.
Device repeatedly restarts/does not power on?
- Ensure you are using the included charger/cables.
- Remove the memory card, camera cable, and car charger, then reinstall them. Check if a problem was caused by accessories.
- Reset the device using the button on the bottom of the camera.
- If the problem persists, connect the dashcam to a computer using a USB cable. If the device powers on, the issue might be with the car's charging cable. If it does not power on while connected, there might be an issue with the dashcam itself.
- Visit the official website to update the firmware.
- If the issue is not resolved, please contact customer service for a replacement.
Why does "Mass storage" appear on the screen?
"Mass storage" occurs when you use a USB cable with data transfer mode, causing the dashcam to enter transfer mode. In this mode, data can only be transferred; other functions will not work. For best results, use the original car charger or a USB cable without data transfer mode.
Why can't I connect to Wi-Fi?
- Check the Wi-Fi working distance, approximately 3 meters.
- Verify the Wi-Fi SSID and password, or if other devices are connected to the Wi-Fi.
- Turn off mobile data, security software, and VPN on your phone.
- If the problem persists, please contact customer support for assistance.
Why is the time setting incorrect?
The dashcam has built-in GPS. It automatically adjusts the time based on your location and time zone, eliminating the need for manual time adjustments. You can also adjust the time via Settings > Time Zone/DST.
