WARNING: HARDWARE THREAD GALLING

We provide Fasteners in Stainless Steel to ensure a long life span. Although Stainless Steel has many benefits like extreme corrosion resistance, threads can be sensitive to Nylon Lock Nuts. We recommend installing hardware with an Anti-Seize thread lubricant to prevent thread galling. Slowing down speed of install and keeping bolts stationary while tightening nuts are common practices to prevent thread galling.

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION STEPS

  1. Using a T-25 Torx, remove Front Bumper and place upside down on a non-abrasive surface.
  2. Identify the two pre existing holes (A) on underside of Front Bumper (closest to wheels).
  3. Place the aerofabb Front Splitter on underside of Bumper. Line up Splitter holes (A) with Factory Bumper holes (A) and install Push Clips from ALIGNMENT HARDWARE (A) passing through both Splitter and Bumper.
  4. With ALIGNMENT HARDWARE (A) installed and Splitter secured on both ends, drill through Splitter holes (B) passing through Bumper.
  5. Install HARDWARE (B) through Splitter holes (B) and tighten.

INSTALLATION STEPS

  1. Drill through the 16 remaining Splitter Holes.
  2. Install HARDWARE (C) through Splitter holes (C) and tighten.
  3. Install HARDWARE (D) through Splitter holes (D) and tighten.
  4. Pull only the following fasteners/spacers from HARDWARE (E) and set aside the remaining for later use in Step 12 and 15.
    -(QTY. 12) M6 X 60MM BOLT
    -(QTY. 12) FENDER WASHER
    -(QTY. 12) M6 NYLON LOCKNUT
    -(QTY. 12) 3/4" OD X 3/4" LG SPACER
  5. Using the fasteners/spacers pulled from HARDWARE (E), install through Splitter holes (E). Only tighten locknuts by hand (this will ensure hardware stays in place during step 11).
  6. Turn the Bumper right-side up / remove all locknuts from HARDWARE (E).
  7. Install Fender Washers and 3/8" Spacers from HARDWARE (E) over the 60mm Bolts as shown.

INSTALLATION STEPS

  1. Place the aerobrace™ over the 60mm Bolts (E) allowing the ends of bolts to pass through slots (E).
  2. Slide the aerobrace™ forward until the rear slots make contact with bolts and cannot slide any further.
  3. With the aerobrace™ slid into position, install the remaining fasteners from HARDWARE (E) and tighten as shown.
  4. Inspect all Hardware for tightness to complete Front Splitter installation. As noted, be sure not to overtighten hardware. Doing so can crush spacers resulting in improper Splitter height and angle.
