  • To Recall: Press and hold your numbered button to return to your saved seating position.

Note: Buttons 8 and 9 are optional features, primarily for NS4000 models. Some symbols may not be available due to the chair setup or model.

Mounting Holes Measurements

A strong and level foundation is required to secure the installation of the base. During storage or transport, the non-electrical telescope column may fasten in the lower position. This can be adjusted by fastening the lockable arm for swing, lifting the release handle, and pulling up the chair.

Note: XL column bottom plates may vary based on chair setup and model.

XL Column Dimensions:

Base plate dimensions are approximately 452 mm x 452 mm. Mounting holes are 4 x 11 THRU. The overall height of the column base is approximately 22.7 mm at 90 degrees, with a base plate size of 394 mm x 394 mm.

Flat Oval Column Dimensions:

The flat oval column has a base diameter of approximately 210 mm and a height of 100 mm. The bottom plate dimensions are approximately 300.9 mm x 380.7 mm, with a central opening of Ø11 mm.

Mounting on a Deck Rail

Ensure the deck rail is mounted according to its user manual. The bolts for mounting the chair to the deck rail are pre-installed in the carrier wagon. If using an electrical deck rail, the switch cabling is typically done via quick-connections already implemented in the chair's column.

Care and Maintenance

Leather

Leather is durable but requires cleaning and protection for longevity. Never place leather furniture closer than 20-30 cm to a radiator or in direct sunlight.

Leather Cleaning:

Clean regularly with a mild cleaner to remove everyday dirt and stains. This prevents grease spots and discoloration over time. Norsap advises cleaning once a month.

Leather Protection:

Apply a leather protection cream 2-4 times a year to maintain original quality, protect against spots, and preserve softness.

Fabric

Regular light vacuuming is recommended. For occasional cleaning, use a reputable brand of upholstery shampoo following the manufacturer's instructions.

Moving Parts

Lubricate glide parts of the chair with a silicone-based lubricant. Do not lubricate the deck rail railway if the chair is mounted on one. ⚙️

Accessing the Interior

To access the seat interior: Set the seat depth adjustment to maximum. Remove the pin and bolt, then slide the seat cushion away from the chair.

To access the armrest interior: Unscrew all marked countersunk screws.

To access the column interior: Unscrew four screws. (Note: Column appearance and features may vary.)

Diagrams show steps for accessing seat, armrest, and column interiors.

Changing Cushions

Backrest Cushion (Part No. PUTE-128)

  1. Pull the top of the backrest cushion from the molded backrest shield.
  2. Continue pulling until all plugs are released, then guide the backrest cushion down and out of the hooks.

Diagrams illustrate the process.

Cushion Replacement Details

Seat Cushion Removal/Installation:

To remove the seat cushion, adjust the seat to a forward position to access the gas spring bracket. Remove the pin and secure the bolt holding the gas spring. Pull the cushion from the gliders. To install, slide the cushion onto the gliders and position it so the bolt aligns with the bracket and gas spring.

Standard Armrest Cushion Removal/Installation (Part No. PUTE-130 / -131):

To remove, unscrew 3 x Screw Ø4,5 x19 A4 DIN 7983 and pull the cushion straight out. To install, align the plugs with the corresponding holes in the mold, push them in, and secure with the same screws.

Note: The number of adjustment buttons may vary by chair setup and model.

Install or Adjust Gas Springs (NORSAP 1800)

To remove gas springs for seat movement, follow instructions for removing the seat and armrest cushions. Gas springs are located under the seat cushion. Secure all removed screws and parts on a clean surface.

Replacing hydraulic release buttons may require removing the standard armrest, circular armrest lid, and cover.

Important Note: Do not use pliers without soft protection when holding the piston for the release button. Marks on the piston can cause loss of pressure, preventing the gas spring from locking or releasing correctly.

Locate the gas spring needing replacement. Follow the hydraulic tube to or from the armrest and remove the bracket. Remove the gas spring with its release cap, noting the order of washers and nuts before unscrewing.

Gas Spring Installation Procedure

To install a new gas spring:

  1. When mounting the gas spring to the release cap, screw it counter-clockwise (CCW) until resistance is felt. The resistance varies with the preload force.
  2. Use the flat surfaces on the gas spring's mounting end as a reference to the release cap. Screw the gas spring CCW approximately 30 minutes (180 degrees).
  3. Without rotating the release cap further, tighten the nut against it by hand to lock the position.
  4. Tighten the nut with suitable tools.
  5. The release cap and piston can now be rotated together to align mounting holes for installation.

Important Note: Do not use force when manipulating the hydraulic cable. If the cable's tubular shape is compromised, the gas spring may not engage or disengage correctly. Do not loosen, adjust, or change the angle of the plastic tubing ends.

Mount the gas spring first, then guide the hydraulic cable through the seat base and into the upper part of the armrest. Attach the circular armrest lid and cover. Mount the hydraulic button to the bracket and reattach the standard armrest cushion. Ensure no strain or pressure on hydraulic cables during armrest reassembly. Check seat functions by operating the buttons. Finally, mount the seat cushion.

SAFETY FIRST: When changing gas springs or actuators, be careful around moving parts and support the movement before removal. ⚠️

Overview of Actuators and Gas Springs (NORSAP 4000)

To access actuators and gas springs, set the seat depth adjustment to maximum length, or the seat sliding/underarm length to minimum. This simplifies the process. Pull out the hairpin cotter pin and remove the clevis pin holding the actuator. Slide the seat cushion off and secure parts on a clean surface.

Removing the Column (NORSAP 1800)

To remove the column:

  1. Adjust the chair to its lowest position. Pull the chair top and inner profile up. Secure the chair top and inner profile by tightening the 2 x M8 set screws.
  2. If the chair has pre-installed components or larger armrests, the 2 x M8 set screws might not hold the weight alone, requiring additional support beams. Use planks or other suitable objects to support the rotation unit from the floor.
  3. Remove the 8 x M8x30 Button head socket cap screws.
  4. Lift the chair top with the gas spring up and away from the column.
  5. Move support beams from the old column to the new one, positioning them under the rotation unit.
  6. Position the chair top onto the new column and secure it to the rotation unit using the 8 x M8x30 Button head socket cap screws.

Important: Remember to check and set the rotation limit on the new rotation unit before installing the chair top.

Separating the column from the rotation unit: Remove the 8 x M6x30 screws and mount them back onto the new column. The rotation unit is standard on chairs with hydraulic adjustments and can be replaced with a suitable adapter plate. Chairs without rotation may have different fixtures for the gas spring located in the column.
