Connecting with Your Computer
- Turn your computer on.
- Insert the USB interface of the HV-KB389L keyboard into a USB port of your computer. (Choosing a USB port located on the back of the chassis is recommended over front ports.)
- Wait 1 minute; your keyboard will automatically be recognized by your computer with no extra driver needed.
Function Description
FN+F11: Custom Settings
Press FN + F11 to start customising the backlit of keys. The 'F11' key will flash. Press FN + F11 again to end the setting. Press FN + 1, 2, or 3 to set the backlit for the corresponding keys.
Note: To alter existing settings, re-enter the custom setting status and click the lit keys to turn them off.
FN+F12: Macro Management
Press FN + F12 to light up the backlit of keys Y, U, I, O, P. Then press FN + Y, U, I, O, P to enter macro management.
Press FN + F12 to end the setting. A new setting can replace a former one.
Backlit Mode Switching
Press FN + Scroll Lock + ↑/↓ to adjust the speed of the backlit.
Press FN + Pause + ↑/↓ to adjust the brightness of the backlit.
1. FN+Insert: Interactive Backlight Mode
Mode Switching:
1) On-click key lighting mode: Only the keys pressed will be lighted.
2) The key you pressed will be set as the central point, then colors will spread around as a ripple effect.
3) On-click zone lighting: The key you pressed will be set as the central point. Surrounding keys will flash back and forth.
4) Typing speed response: Backlit color automatically adjusts according to typing speed. Colors gradually change from blue to red as typing speed increases, and from red to blue when there is no typing. Press FN + ↑/↓ to adjust the brightness of the backlit.
Backlit Modes
3. FN+Page Up: Always Mode
Backlit is always on during breathing.
1) FN + Print Screen: Multi-color mode, 7 colors breathe one by one.
2) FN + Scroll Lock: Switch to single-color mode, 7 colors adjustable.
3) Press FN + ↑/↓ to adjust the brightness of backlit.
4) Multi-color mode: Press FN + ←/→ to adjust the breathing speed of backlit.
4. FN+Page Down: Side Backlit
1) FN + Print Screen: Multi-color mode (default), 7 colors breathe in cycle.
2) FN + Scroll Lock: Switch to single-color mode, 7 colors adjustable. If switching to the first level of brightness, backlit will turn off.
3) Multi-color mode: Press FN + ←/→ to adjust the speed of backlit.
5. Fn+End: Scan Backlit
Backlit scans from left to right. Press Fn + End again to scan from right to left.
1) FN + Print Screen: Multi-color mode. Press FN + Pause to stop flowing.
2) FN + Scroll Lock: Switch to single-color mode, 7 colors adjustable.
3) Press FN + ↑/↓ to adjust the brightness of backlit.
4) Press FN + ←/→ to adjust the speed of backlit.

Troubleshooting Steps
- Insert the USB cable into another USB port on the computer.
- If using a USB hub, try connecting the keyboard directly to your computer.
- Mechanical keyboards may require more power. It is recommended to plug into USB ports on the back of the chassis rather than the front.
- Check the USB hub for foreign objects or dust.
- Unplug and reinsert the USB connector.
- Ensure function shortcuts are mapped correctly in your operating system's control panel.
- Restart the computer.
