The Televes EuroSwitch is a compact multiswitch designed for large installations. Application Examples
Installation into a family-house (1 satellite)
In a family-house setup with one satellite, the LNB and multiswitch are powered by the user's Set-Top Box (STB) by enabling the "RECEIVER POWER" switch. An external Power Supply Unit (PSU) is not required in this configuration. The diagram shows the STB providing DC power to the multiswitch and LNB, with terrestrial DC power off and terrestrial amplification set to passive.
Installation into a small multi-dwelling unit (1 satellite)
For a small multi-dwelling unit with one satellite, the LNB, terrestrial antenna, and the entire cascade of multiswitches are powered by a single 3A PSU (Ref. 732802). When the "RECEIVER POWER" is switched off, the STBs are DC isolated from the cascade and protected against overcurrent.
Two common configurations for multi-dwelling units are illustrated:
- Cascaded Configuration: A cascade of multiswitches (MSW 5x5x16) is powered by a 3A PSU. The system is set to 'TERR. DC = ON', 'RECEIVER POWER = OFF', 'TERR. AMP. (T.Force) = ACTIVE', and 'AUTOLOAD = CASCADE'. DC power flows from the PSU to the system.
- Terminal Configuration: A multiswitch (MSW 5x5x16) is used as a terminal unit, also powered by a 3A PSU. The settings are 'TERR. DC = OFF', 'RECEIVER POWER = OFF', 'TERR. AMP. (T.Force) = ACTIVE', and 'AUTOLOAD = TERMINAL'.
