"THE CARING SHAPE AND WARM LIGHT MAKE IT INVITING."

Every piece of equipment represents a balance of technology and design. The Optima MR450w exemplifies this philosophy, combining the versatility of 1.5T performance with the comfort of a wider bore design. This is just the beginning of how the Optima MR450w delivers the right experience, capabilities, and investment.

CARING DESIGN. MR IN A NEW LIGHT.

Sophisticated LED lighting on the Optima MR450w captures attention, highlighting a focus on the human element in MR. Inspired by caring hands, the system is designed to be welcoming to patients and intuitive for technologists.

Patient comfort was a key consideration. The system features a widened bore, soft, flexible coils, and a re-designed table surface with varying cushion densities to alleviate pressure points for a more relaxing exam.

Technologists benefit from a sleek, ergonomically-friendly interface that mimics familiar consumer devices, allowing them to focus on patient care. The result is an MR system that is inviting to patients and user-friendly for technologists.

"We designed the Optima MR450w with one thing in mind, the human element. This focus created a new direction for us and should influence the next generation of our products for years to come." – Optima MR450w lead designer

INSIGHTFUL TECHNOLOGY. CUTTING-EDGE MADE PRACTICAL.

The Optima MR450w combines the right technology with the right gantry design, offering 1.5T performance within an open architecture, 70 cm wide bore. This cutting-edge technology is fine-tuned for everyday needs.

Optical RF (OpTix)

OpTix Optical RF provides high channel count and analog-to-digital-optical signal conversion within the scan room to minimize noise and signal degradation, enhancing patient comfort and safety.

Usable FOV

The 70 cm flared, open bore design offers a large 50 x 50 x 50 cm field of view, characterized by excellent homogeneity, gradient linearity, and RF uniformity. This large, usable field of view is essential for imaging off-center anatomy like the shoulder or hip.

Gradients

Gradient speed, accuracy, and reproducibility are critical for demanding acquisitions such as fMRI, DTI, and Fiesta. The gradient and RF body coils are water and air-cooled for optimal duty-cycle performance, enabling short TR's and TE's for sharp, clear images.

Acoustic Reduction Technology (ART)

ART reduces acoustic noise, optimizing gradient performance without compromising image quality. It is designed to be an essential part of brain, spine, and MSK scans, contributing to a quieter MR experience.

"Under that sleek exterior is some of the most versatile technology we've ever built into an MR. Our goal has been to deliver a 1.5T system with a 70 cm bore with no compromises. In fact, the Optima MR450w is engineered to be 30 percent lighter than our previous systems without sacrificing performance." – Optima MR450w lead engineer

FLEXIBLE COILS. EMBRACE THE PATIENT.

Coils focus MR energy for clearer images. Unlike traditional designs that may prioritize function over comfort, the Geometry Embracing Method (GEM) Suite is designed for patient comfort, minimizing anxiety and motion. These flexible coils promote a relaxed scan experience and ease patient positioning for technologists.

Patients can benefit from feet-first imaging for all exam types, lightweight, flexible coils, and a re-designed table surface that alleviates pressure points.

"We've completely changed how we think about coil design. With GEM Suite, patients can expect a more comfortable exam with open, flexible coils that naturally follow the contours of the human body." – GEM Suite lead coil engineer

GEM Express Patient Table and Posterior Array

A mobile patient transport featuring an embedded high-density, posterior RF coil array. It supports both head-first and feet-first imaging for all anatomies, reducing the need for patient repositioning and coil exchanges.

GEM Anterior Array

Facilitates extended coverage for chest, abdomen, pelvis, and cardiac imaging. It is lightweight, flexible, thin, and pre-formed to conform to the patient's size and shape.

GEM Lower Extremity Array

Designed for imaging the thighs and lower legs, this coil incorporates an innovative, self-supporting hinge design between upper and lower elements to accommodate various patient sizes and simplify setup.

GEM Head and Neck Unit (HNU)

Supports head-first or feet-first imaging with an open-face design for unobstructed patient views. GEM comfort tilt elevates the superior end of the coil, enhancing image quality by positioning anatomy closer to coil elements, especially for kyphotic patients.

GEM Flex Suite

A set of lightweight and flexible arrays accommodating a wide range of patient sizes and shapes. It includes three high-density 16-channel arrays, knee support with a fixation device, and a coil fixation pad for high-resolution imaging of hips, knees, ankles, feet, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. These coils eliminate the need for patients to fit into rigid, non-conforming arrays.

INTUITIVE APPLICATIONS. SEE TO UNDERSTAND.

Intuitive applications are key to understanding diagnostic needs. The Optima MR450w offers advanced applications to maximize the potential of 1.5T MR imaging.

Acquire contrast-quality images without contrast using Inhance DeltaFlow, allowing patients to be evaluated without contrast injections – a benefit for both the patient and the provider.
