What are the Pinguino and SuperPinguino?
During the summer, comfortable temperatures are typically between 24°C and 27°C with a relative humidity of about 50%. An air conditioning unit removes excess moisture and heat from the room. Portable air conditioning units offer the advantage of being easily moved between rooms or even buildings, unlike installed models.
Hot air from the room passes through a coil cooled by refrigerant gas. Excess heat and moisture are removed before the air is re-emitted into the room. In single-unit models (Pinguino), a small portion of this air is used to cool the refrigerant gas before being discharged outside. In models with a separate case (SuperPinguino), the circuit is cooled using outside air. All Pinguino and SuperPinguino models can also be used in fan-only mode.

- The mains power supply matches the value on the rating plate.
- The mains socket and electrical circuit are adequate for the appliance.
- The mains socket matches the plug; if not, have the plug replaced.
- The mains socket is adequately earthed. Failure to follow these instructions absolves the manufacturer of liability.
The power cable must be replaced by a qualified professional only.
Air-Conditioning Without Installation
Follow these simple steps for comfort:
- Fit the air exhaust hose (11) into the housing (6) at the back of the appliance, as shown in Figure A.
- Fit the window outlet (11) to the end of the hose (12).
- Place the air conditioning unit near a window or French window.
- Ensure the air exhaust hose is unobstructed.
- Open the window or French window slightly and position the outlet (12) as shown in Figure B.
Keep air hoses as short and free of curves as possible to avoid constrictions.
- If you have a double window, use the suckers (13) provided to hold the two parts of the window together (Figure C).
Air-Conditioning With Installation
The Pinguino can be installed semi-permanently if required (Figure D).
- Fit the flange accessory (10) into the hole.
- Fit the hose (11) into the housing at the back of the appliance (Figure A, page 21).
- Fit the end of the hose (11) to the flange (10) as shown in Figure F.
Procedure:
- Drill a hole in an outside wall or through a window pane, respecting the height and dimensions shown in Figure E.
Figure E illustrates hole dimensions for window panes, wooden kickboards of French windows, and walls (insulation recommended for walls).
When the hose (11) is not fitted, the hole can be closed with the flange cap (10).
NOTE: When installing semi-permanently, leave a door slightly open (approx. 1 cm) to ensure correct ventilation.

Tips for Best Performance
To get the best from your air conditioning unit, follow these recommendations:
- Close the windows and doors in the room to be air conditioned. The only exception is when the appliance is installed through a hole in the wall; in this case, leave a slight draught through a door or window for correct ventilation.
- Never use the appliance in very damp rooms (e.g., laundries) or outdoors.
- Protect the room from direct exposure to the sun by partially closing curtains and/or blinds to make the appliance more economical to run.
- Never rest objects of any kind on the air conditioning unit.
- Never obstruct the air intake (5) or outlet (1) grilles.
- Ensure there are no heat sources in the room.
- Make sure the air conditioning unit is on a level floor. If necessary, place the two castor locks (14) under the front wheels (3).
Cleaning and Maintenance
Before cleaning or maintenance, turn the appliance off using the ON/OFF button (A or 17) and unplug it from the mains socket.
Cleaning the Cabinet
Clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth and then dry with a dry cloth. Never wash the unit with water.
Precautions: Never use petrol, alcohol, or solvents. Never spray insecticide liquids.
Cleaning the Air Filters
To keep the unit working efficiently, clean the dust filter every week of operation. The filter is housed in the intake grille.
To clean the filters:
- Remove the intake grille by rotating it outwards (Figure G).
- Remove the dust filter by detaching it from the grille (Figure H).
Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust. If very dirty, immerse in warm water (not hotter than 40°C), rinse, and let dry. Replace filters in the intake grille and attach the grille to the appliance.
Start of Season Checks
Ensure the power cable and plug are undamaged and the earth system is efficient. Follow installation instructions precisely.
End of Season Operations
To empty the internal circuit of water, open the cover (8) on the rear. Pull out the 2 drain hoses, remove caps, and let water drain out (Figure I). Replace caps and put hoses back. Clean filters and dry thoroughly before storage.
