DeLonghi Pinguino L10/L15/L20H/L30/L40 Portable Air Conditioner

User Manual

What are the Pinguino and SuperPinguino?

During the summer, comfortable temperatures are typically between 24°C and 27°C with a relative humidity of about 50%. An air conditioning unit removes excess moisture and heat from the room. Portable air conditioning units offer the advantage of being easily moved between rooms or even buildings, unlike installed models.

Hot air from the room passes through a coil cooled by refrigerant gas. Excess heat and moisture are removed before the air is re-emitted into the room. In single-unit models (Pinguino), a small portion of this air is used to cool the refrigerant gas before being discharged outside. In models with a separate case (SuperPinguino), the circuit is cooled using outside air. All Pinguino and SuperPinguino models can also be used in fan-only mode.

Tips for Best Performance

To get the best from your air conditioning unit, follow these recommendations:

Cleaning and Maintenance

Before cleaning or maintenance, turn the appliance off using the ON/OFF button (A or 17) and unplug it from the mains socket.

Cleaning the Cabinet

Clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth and then dry with a dry cloth. Never wash the unit with water.

Precautions: Never use petrol, alcohol, or solvents. Never spray insecticide liquids.

Cleaning the Air Filters

To keep the unit working efficiently, clean the dust filter every week of operation. The filter is housed in the intake grille.

To clean the filters:

  1. Remove the intake grille by rotating it outwards (Figure G).
  2. Remove the dust filter by detaching it from the grille (Figure H).

Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust. If very dirty, immerse in warm water (not hotter than 40°C), rinse, and let dry. Replace filters in the intake grille and attach the grille to the appliance.

Start of Season Checks

Ensure the power cable and plug are undamaged and the earth system is efficient. Follow installation instructions precisely.

End of Season Operations

To empty the internal circuit of water, open the cover (8) on the rear. Pull out the 2 drain hoses, remove caps, and let water drain out (Figure I). Replace caps and put hoses back. Clean filters and dry thoroughly before storage.
