Basic Troubleshooting
My laptop is not turning on/is not charging
- Leave the unit on charge for at least an hour before attempting to turn it on.
- Batteries deplete naturally over time; recharge may take a while. Periodic charging is recommended for units in storage to maintain battery capacity.
- Note if any lights or internal components (like fans) turn on.
- Inspect the unit, charging port, and power cord for physical damage. If damage is found, do not use the cord and contact help.kogan.com.
Wi-Fi connection is not working
- Restart your modem/router.
- Reconnect any range extenders.
- Restart the device experiencing issues.
- Move the device closer to the Wi-Fi source.
- Verify all Wi-Fi passwords are correct.
- If connection is weak or slow, try disconnecting and manually reconnecting to the network.
Screen gets dark when unplugged
- This is usually due to power plan settings.
- Adjust power plan settings via the Control Panel.
I have forgotten my password
- Reset a Microsoft password using several options:
- Use a password reset disc via USB.
- Reset your Microsoft account password online with another device.
- Reset Windows to factory default (note: this will delete personal files and settings).
