Orbit 12-Station Sprinkler Controller Quick Start Guide
This guide provides basic installation, programming, and Iris® connection help for your new Orbit® Controller. For more information about Iris®, please visit www.lowes.com/iris. For additional manual programming instructions, please download the full manual “Outdoor Swing Panel Controller” at www.orbitonline.com.
Getting Started
Required Tools: Phillips Screwdriver, Wire Strippers
- Select Location: Choose a clean, dry location out of direct sunlight, with at least 9 inches of clearance for the swing door. Indoor mounting is recommended.
- Mount Controller: Use the included mounting template to mark screw locations. Hang the controller on a screw using the keyhole. Ensure it is level. Screw through one of the pre-formed mounting holes for added stability.
- Connect Sprinkler Valves to Controller Wires: Connect one wire from each valve to the common wire (usually white) leading to the controller. Connect the other wire from each valve to one of the colored wires leading to the controller. Only connect one valve to each terminal (station).
- Connect Valve Wire to Terminal: Push the tab upward to release the wire. Strip the wire and push it into the terminal.
- Activate Battery: Remove the plastic strip to activate the backup battery (CR2032 Lithium). This battery maintains your program in case of AC power loss. It should be replaced annually.
- Connect Controller to Power Source: Connect the controller's transformer to an AC power line voltage source. A battery alone will not operate the valves.
- Connect Controller to Iris® Home Management System: Log into your Iris® account at www.lowes.com/iris using a computer. Follow the instructions in the "Add Device" section of the Iris® website. The controller will attempt to connect to Iris® automatically when first powered on. The wireless icon will flash until paired, then remain solid with 'SMART MODE' displayed.
