Description and Principle of Operation

The U-Prox PIR Cam is a digital passive infrared radio channel sensor with an integrated camera. It protects enclosed residential and industrial areas by detecting thermal changes and sending intrusion photos to the U-Prox alarm center. Its special lens makes it suitable for rooms with pets (up to 20 kg) and it is designed for indoor use only. The sensor operates exclusively with the U-Prox security system.

Key components include the sensor case, indicator light, PIR element lens, LED camera flash, camera lens, mounting bracket, tamper contact, rear cover, and on/off switch.

Power Supply

The device is powered by a CR123A lithium battery, offering up to 5 years of operation on a single charge.

Installation and Mounting

Proper installation is crucial. Choose a location that maximizes the sensor's field of view, avoiding direct sunlight, high humidity, radio interference, and rapidly changing temperatures. The recommended installation height is 2.1 meters from the floor. The kit includes brackets for angled or flat surface mounting. Follow the sequence: register the sensor via the installer app, select the location, install the bracket, and then mount the device.

Switching On and Off

Use the on/off switch (9) to power the device. If the device is not registered, it will enter sleep mode after 30 seconds.

Settings and Configuration

System configuration is managed through the U-Prox Installer mobile application or the U-Prox Installer WEB portal. Users can set device names, assign security groups, adjust sensitivity (Low, Medium, High), manage light indication, configure temperature limit notifications, and select operating modes like "Delayed," "Without delay," "Corridor," "Internal corridor," "Inner zone," "24-hour zone," and "Intelligent Alarm Recognition."

Testing and Removal

The connection can be tested using the installer application, checking sensor operation and signal strength. Devices can be removed from the system via the installer app or WEB portal by selecting the "Uninstall" button.

Service and Maintenance

The U-Prox PIR Cam requires minimal maintenance. Periodically clean the device case with a dry cloth. Battery replacement involves removing the device from its bracket, unscrewing the rear cover, replacing the CR123A battery, and reassembling. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.

The device complies with various EU directives and standards, including RED, ROHS, and EN standards related to radio equipment, safety, and electromagnetic compatibility. The warranty period for the U-Prox device (excluding batteries) is 2 years from the date of sale.
