Datalogic PowerScan PBT9501 Regulatory Addendum
This document provides supplementary regulatory and compliance information for the Datalogic PowerScan PBT9501 Industrial Cordless Handheld Bar Code Reader.
This document is an addendum to the Quick Reference Guide (QRG) for this product. See the QRG for additional product information.
Regulatory Information
All models are designed to be compliant with rules and regulations in locations they are sold and will be labeled as required. Any changes or modifications to equipment, not expressly approved by Datalogic could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
Statement of Agency Compliance
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
FCC RF Radiation Exposure Statement
⚠️ CAUTION: Exposure to Radio-Frequency Radiation
To comply with FCC RF exposure compliance requirements, for mobile configurations, a separation distance of at least 20 cm must be maintained between the antenna of this device and all persons. This device must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
NCC Statement (Taiwan)
According to NCC low-power radio frequency electrical equipment management regulations:
- Article 12: Low-power radio frequency electrical equipment that has passed type certification, without permission, companies, businesses, or users shall not arbitrarily change frequency, increase power, or change the original design characteristics and functions.
- Article 14: The use of low-power radio frequency electrical equipment shall not affect flight safety and interfere with legal communications; if interference is found, it shall be stopped immediately and improved until there is no interference before continuing to use. The legal communications mentioned in the preceding paragraph refer to radio communications operated in accordance with the Telecommunications Act. Low-power radio frequency electrical equipment must tolerate interference from legal communications or industrial, scientific, and medical radio frequency electrical equipment.
Module Labeling: After obtaining certification, the module will be labeled with the approval label as required, and the platform manufacturer will be required to label 'This product contains transmitter module: CCAJ14LP0060T3' on the platform.
Cofetel Mexico Update
This product is usable in Mexico. Certificate No. RCPDADL09-1251 (COFETEL).
The operation of this equipment is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this equipment or device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this equipment or device must accept any interference, including that which may cause its undesired operation.

The PowerScan™ aiming system meets the Class 2 requirements for laser safety. The laser information is located on the sides of the Scanner as shown below. Sample labels are shown here to illustrate their location only. Please view the labels on your product for actual details, as they may vary from those depicted.

Laser Safety
⚠️ CAUTION: The PowerScan™ Handheld Reader is not user-serviceable. Opening the case of the unit can cause internal damage and will void the warranty.
Standard Laser Safety Regulations: This product conforms to the applicable requirements of both CDRH 21 CFR 1040 and EN 60825-1 at the date of manufacture. For installation, use, and maintenance, it is not necessary to open the device.
Laser Light Warning: Using procedures or adjustments different from those described in the documentation may result in dangerous exposure to visible laser light.
The product uses a low-power laser diode. Although no human eye damage has been reported from short-term exposure, avoid staring at the laser beam, just as you would avoid any other intense light source, such as the sun. Also, avoid directing the laser beam into the eyes of an observer, even through reflective surfaces like mirrors.
