Use
The Testo Comfort Software Basic 5 is designed for saving, reading out, and analyzing individual readings and measurement series. Its primary function is the graphical presentation of collected data, which is transmitted from Testo Data Loggers to a PC via an interface.
System Requirements
Operating System: Windows 7, Windows 8/8 Pro/8 Enterprise, Windows 8.1, Windows 10.
Computer: Must meet the requirements of the corresponding operating system. Additionally, requires Interface USB 2.0 or higher and Internet Explorer 9.0 or higher.
Note: Ensure system time is regularly synchronized with a reliable time source for data authenticity.
First Steps
Downloading Software
Download the Testo Comfort Software Basic 5 free of charge from www.testo.com/download-center (registration may be required). Save the downloaded Zip file.
Installing Software/Driver
Administrator rights are necessary for installation. If you have a previous version (3.4 or 4.0) installed, update it via the download center, install Comfort Software 5, and recreate instrument links.
Unpack the downloaded Zip-file, run 'Setup.exe', and follow the installation wizard instructions. After software installation, connect the instrument to the PC via USB for automatic driver installation.
Starting the Software
The software interface will appear in the language of your operating system if supported, otherwise in English.
Access the software through the Windows program menu: [Start] > [All Programs] > [Testo] > [Comfort Software Professional 5] (Windows 7), or via the search function (Windows 8/10).
Follow on-screen prompts, including User Account Control confirmation and entering user name and password (default 'testo' if not set).
Using the Product
Start Page
Upon launching, the start screen displays the menu bar and quick access to preview functions. If no instrument is connected, a connection page is shown.
Making Settings
Access 'Settings' from the menu to choose the desired language. Save the selection and restart the software for the changes to take effect.
Connect Instrument
Connect your Testo data logger via the start page or the 'Instrument' menu. Instruments are displayed with their type designation. Follow the prompts to connect, noting that only one instrument can be connected at a time.
Configure Instrument
Configure operation settings via the 'Instrument' menu. Set start criteria (e.g., start time, button press, software start), stop criteria (e.g., memory full, number of readings), measuring interval, and channel settings. Save configurations as templates for future use.
Import Measurement Data
Import data from the instrument via the 'Evaluating' menu. Details like instrument name and serial number will be displayed. Data can be saved to a file or imported from an SD card.
Evaluate Measurement Data
Select 'Evaluate measurement data' from the 'Evaluating' menu. View data in diagram or table format. Adjust diagram settings, zoom, and export data for reporting or clipboard use. Reports can be printed or exported.
