Introduction to Refrigerants R32
The refrigerants used for air conditioners are environmentally friendly hydrocarbons R32. This refrigerant is combustible and odorless. Moreover, it can burn and explode under certain conditions. However, there will be no risk of burning and explosion if you comply with the following table to install your air conditioner in a room with an appropriate area and use it correctly. Compared with ordinary refrigerants, Refrigerant R32 is environmentally friendly and does not destroy the ozone layer, and its global warming potential is also very low.
Room Area Requests for Air Conditioner with Refrigerant R32
Refrigerant R32 Capacity (Btu) | Room Area |
---|---|
9K | Above 4m² |
12K | Above 4m² |
18K | Above 15m² |
24K | Above 25m² |
Warnings
- Please read the manual before installation, using, and maintenance.
- Do not use means to accelerate the defrosting process or to clean, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not pierce or burn the appliance.
- The appliance shall be stored in a room without continuously operating sources (e.g., open flames, an operating ignition gas appliance, or an operating electric heater).
- Please contact the nearest after-sale service center when maintenance is necessary.
- At the time of maintenance, the maintenance personnel must strictly comply with the Operation Manual provided by the corresponding manufacturer. Non-professionals are prohibited from maintaining the air conditioner.
- It is necessary to comply with the provisions of gas-related national laws and regulations.
- It is necessary to clear away the refrigerant in the system when maintaining or scrapping an air conditioner.
- Be aware that refrigerants may not contain an odor.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Unit operation limits: Outdoor side 61~110°F (16~43°C), 80%RH; Indoor side 61~90°F (16~32°C), 80%RH.
Important Considerations and Installation Safety
Before installing the appliance, you must read the manual carefully to get the safety information and notes.
- Unit refrigerant charge amount: Refer to the unit nameplate marking.
- A leak test must be done after the installation is completed.
- It is a must to do the safety inspection before maintaining or repairing an air conditioner using combustible refrigerant in order to ensure that the fire risk is reduced to a minimum.
- It is necessary to operate the machine under a controlled procedure to ensure that any risk arising from combustible gas or vapor during operation is reduced to a minimum.

Please note:
- The installation site should be well-ventilated.
- Sites for installing and maintaining an air conditioner using Refrigerant R32 should be free from open fire or welding, smoking, drying ovens, or any other heat source higher than 548°F (287°C) which can easily produce open fire.
- When installing an air conditioner, it is necessary to take appropriate anti-static measures such as wearing anti-static clothing and/or gloves.
- It is necessary to choose a site convenient for installation or maintenance where the air inlets and outlets of the indoor and outdoor units should not be surrounded by obstacles or close to any heat source or combustible and/or explosive environment.
- If the indoor unit suffers refrigerant leak during installation, all personnel should evacuate until the refrigerant leaks completely for 15 minutes.
- If the product is damaged, it is a must to carry such damaged product back to the maintenance station; welding the refrigerant pipe or conducting other operations on the user's site is prohibited.
- It is necessary to choose a place where the inlet and outlet air of the indoor unit is even.
- It is necessary to avoid places where there are other electrical products, power switch plugs and sockets, kitchen cabinets, beds, sofas, and other valuables directly under the lines on two sides of the indoor unit, and also prevent mechanical damage from occurring.
Air Conditioner Features
NOTE: The controls featured in this manual are representative of many available models. Your model may offer slightly different features.
- POWER: Turn on the unit by rotating the MODE dial to the desired setting.
- COOLING MODE: For maximum cooling, set the MODE dial to the "Cooling" setting. In HIGH COOL mode, the fan will automatically operate at high speed. This helps circulate cool air throughout the room. The fan will operate on low in the standard "Cooling" mode.
- FAN MODE: For fan-only modes, choose either the "Fan High" or "Fan Low" setting. The air conditioner will not cool the room when in fan mode.
- THERMOSTAT: Turn the TEMP dial to set the desired room temperature. For maximum cooling, turn the TEMP dial to 7 (Max Cool).
- DIRECTIONAL LOUVERS: To direct the airflow, use the horizontal wheel to control the horizontal direction and the air deflector to control the vertical direction.
Diagram Description: The air conditioner features controls including a MODE dial, a TEMP dial, and directional louvers. The louvers are adjusted using a horizontal wheel for horizontal airflow and an air deflector for vertical airflow.
Cleaning and Maintenance
CAUTION: Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new. Be sure to unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire hazards.
Air Filter Cleaning
- The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the filter can build up and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils.
- To clean: Remove the filter by sliding it out from the right-hand side. Wash the filter using liquid dish detergent and warm water. Rinse the filter thoroughly. Gently shake excess water from the filter. Be sure the filter is thoroughly dry before replacing. Alternatively, you may vacuum the filter clean.
- Never use hot water over 40°C (104°F) to clean the air filter.
- Never attempt to operate the unit without the air filter.
Cabinet Cleaning
- Be sure to unplug the air conditioner to prevent shock or fire hazards.
- The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
- Never use harsh cleaners, wax, or polish on the cabinet front.
- Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping the controls. Excess water in or around the controls can damage the air conditioner.
Winter Storage
- If you plan to store the air conditioner during the winter, remove it carefully from the window according to the installation instructions. Cover it with plastic or return it to the original carton.
