Hover-1 Eagle Electric Folding Scooter

Operation Manual

Model: H1-EGE

Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe operation and maintenance of your new Hover-1 Eagle scooter. Please read it thoroughly before riding.

⚠️ WARNING: Make sure you read this complete manual before riding your Hover-1 Eagle. Failure to do so, or failure to follow its guidelines, could lead to serious injury or death.

The Eagle is a personal transporter. Its technology and production processes undergo strict testing. Operating the Eagle without following this manual's contents may lead to damage to your scooter or bodily injury.

Package Contents

  • Hover-1 Eagle Electric Folding Scooter
  • Wall Charger
  • Operation Manual

Your Hover-1 Eagle's serial number is stamped on the kickstand side of the platform. Record it in the warranty section for safekeeping in case the scooter is lost or stolen.

Safety Precautions

The primary rule in safe riding is common sense.

Different localities and countries have varying laws for electric transportation devices on public roads. Check with local officials to ensure compliance with traffic laws. Hover-1 is not liable for tickets or violations resulting from failure to follow local laws and regulations.

For your safety, always wear a helmet that meets CPSC or CE safety standards. A helmet can protect you from serious injury and, in some cases, death, during an accident.

  • Obey all local traffic laws, including traffic signals, one-way streets, stop signs, and pedestrian crosswalks.
  • Ride with the traffic flow, not against it.
  • Ride defensively and anticipate the unexpected.
  • Give pedestrians the right-of-way.
  • Do not ride too close to pedestrians; alert them if you intend to pass.
  • Slow down at intersections and check left and right before crossing.

Your Eagle electric folding scooter is not equipped with reflectors. Riding in low visibility conditions is not recommended. If riding in low visibility, ensure your LED light is on and wear bright, reflective clothing.

⚠️ WARNING: Riding in low-visibility conditions (fog, dusk, night) can make you difficult to see, potentially leading to a collision. Wear bright, reflective clothing to increase safety in poor lighting.

Think about safety while riding to prevent accidents. Below is a safety checklist:

Safety Checklist

  • Do not ride beyond your skill level. Practice all functions and features thoroughly.
  • Do not ride too fast; increased speed means increased risk. Small bumps can become large impacts at higher speeds, increasing injury risk.
  • Do not ride with pets.
  • Before stepping on your Eagle, ensure it is on level ground and the power is on.
  • Do not try to open or modify your Eagle scooter. This voids the manufacturer warranty and may lead to failure, injury, or death.
  • Do not use the Eagle in a manner that endangers people or property.
  • If riding with friends, maintain a safe distance to prevent collisions and injuries.
  • Keep your feet on the scooter at all times. Moving feet off the scooter while driving is dangerous and can cause it to stop or veer.
  • Do not operate the Eagle under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Do not operate the Eagle when restless or sleepy.
  • Use your best judgment to avoid dangerous situations.
  • Do not ride off curbs, ramps, or attempt to use it in skate parks, empty pools, or similar areas like a skateboard. Misuse voids the warranty and may cause injury or damage.
  • Do not abuse your Eagle; this can damage the unit and cause system failure, leading to injury. Physical abuse, including dropping, voids the warranty.
  • Do not operate in or near puddles, mud, sand, stones, gravel, debris, or rough terrain.
  • The Eagle is designed for flat, even paved surfaces. Lift the scooter over uneven pavement or obstructions.
  • Do not ride in inclement weather (snow, rain, hail, ice, extreme heat or cold).
  • Bend your knees when riding on bumpy or uneven pavement to absorb shock and maintain balance.
  • If unsure about riding on a specific terrain, dismount and carry the Eagle. Always be cautious.
  • Do not attempt to ride over bumps or objects greater than 1/2 inch, even with bent knees.
  • PAY ATTENTION: Observe your surroundings, road conditions, people, places, property, and objects.
  • Do not operate the Eagle in crowded areas.
  • Operate with extreme caution indoors, especially around people, property, and in narrow spaces.
  • Do not operate while talking, texting, or looking at your phone.
  • Do not ride where it is not permitted.
  • Do not ride near motor vehicles or on public roads.
  • Do not travel up or down steep hills.
  • The Eagle is for single riders only. Do not attempt to ride with two or more people.
  • Do not carry anything while riding.
  • Individuals with balance issues should not operate the Eagle.
  • Pregnant women should not operate the Eagle.
  • Young children and the elderly should not operate the Eagle.
  • At higher speeds, account for longer stopping distances.
  • Do not attempt to jump on or off the Eagle.
  • Do not attempt any stunts or tricks.
  • Do not ride in dark or poorly lit areas.
  • Do not ride near or over potholes, cracks, or uneven pavement.
  • Do not operate off-road.
  • Do not turn sharply, especially at high speeds.
  • Do not exceed maximum or minimum weight limits.
  • Avoid driving in unsafe places, including areas with flammable gas, steam, liquid, dust, or fiber, which could cause fire or explosion.
  • Do not operate near swimming pools or other bodies of water.

⚠️ WARNING: Additional risks of injury may occur if the scooter is used incorrectly, including but not limited to: jumping, riding over debris, performing stunts, riding off-road, riding fast, racing, or riding in an unusual manner. These actions stress scooter parts and can lead to long-term damage, accidents, or increased injury risk. Use your scooter correctly.

Riding Your Eagle Scooter

FAILURE TO FOLLOW ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS CAN AND MAY LEAD TO DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE, VOID YOUR MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, CAUSE SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, AND CAN LEAD TO DEATH.

Operating Your Device

Ensure the device is fully charged before initial use. Before turning on, ride it like a normal kick scooter to get comfortable. When comfortable, power it on. For the motor to activate, start riding and then push the throttle down. To slow down, push the electric brake lever. This stops the motor and slows you. You can also use your foot on the mechanical brake to slow down manually. To turn, use the handlebar in the desired direction. The scooter can be operated manually if you prefer not to use the motor. As you gain experience, maneuvering becomes easier. At higher speeds, shift your weight to overcome centrifugal force. Brace yourself for bumps or uneven surfaces, then dismount and carry your Eagle to a safe operating surface.

⚠️ WARNING: Do not turn sharply or at high speeds to avoid danger. Do not turn or ride quickly along slopes, as it may cause injury.

Weight and Speed Limitations

Speed and weight limits are for your safety. Do not exceed the limits listed in the Specifications section.

⚠️ WARNING: Overweight exertion on the device may increase the possibility of injury or product damage.

Operating Range

Factors affecting operating range:

  • Terrain: Riding distance is greatest on smooth, flat surfaces. Uphill riding and rough terrain significantly reduce distance.
  • Weight: Lighter users have a longer range than heavier users.
  • Ambient Temperature: Ride and store the device under recommended temperatures for increased driving distance, battery life, and performance.
  • Speed and Riding Style: Moderate, consistent speed maximizes distance. High speeds, frequent starts/stops, idling, and frequent acceleration/deceleration decrease overall distance.

*Do not attempt to stop suddenly, as this may lead to injury or damage to your brake discs.

⚠️ WARNING: Proper use of your brake is vital for safe, efficient stopping. To avoid misuse and injury, do not apply sudden or excessive force. Apply brakes gradually and allow ample room for a complete stop.

Safety Alerts

If a system error occurs or illegal operation is performed, the device will prompt the user. Safety Alerts should not be ignored; take appropriate action to correct errors.

Common Safety Alerts:

  • Prohibited riding surfaces (uneven, too steep, unsafe, etc.).
  • Battery voltage is too low.
  • The device is still charging.
  • Overheating or motor temperature is too high.
  • Battery icon flashes when the battery is low.
  • If tires are blocked, the device stops after 10 seconds.
  • Device motor powers off after 15 seconds when battery level depletes below protection mode.
  • Device motor powers off after 15 seconds during high discharge current (e.g., riding up a steep slope for a long time).

⚠️ WARNING: SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IF YOU ARE EXPOSED TO ANY SUBSTANCE THAT IS EMITTED FROM THE BATTERY.
