This toilet is covered by a limited lifetime warranty on chinaware, a limited 5-year warranty on all mechanical parts, and a limited 1-year warranty on the toilet seat (if included). American Standard will repair or exchange the product if inspection confirms defects in materials or workmanship.

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and installation. Proof of purchase is required. Warranty registration via internet or telephone is necessary for the warranty to become effective.

Exclusions: This limited warranty does not apply to commercial installations, local building code compliance, products moved from their initial installation, faulty maintenance, abuse, misuse, accident, or unauthorized modifications. It also explicitly does not cover damages caused by the use of in-tank cleaners, which can corrode tank fittings and cause leakage.

Labor or other costs of removal or installation, including surrounding materials like tile or marble, are not covered. American Standard is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages.

Installation Instructions

Before You Start:

If Removing An Existing Toilet:

Back-to-Back Installation Considerations:

Depending on plumbing and venting conditions, back-to-back installations may create a vacuum that draws water from the opposing bowl. The National Standards Plumbing Code prohibits cross fittings for drainage due to potential siphoning. A directional "Y" style fitting with proper venting is approved to direct water downward and away from the other toilet.

Installation Steps:

  1. Tank to Bowl Connection: Install tank grommets and tank bolts in the bottom of the tank. Place the tank gasket over the tank nut, ensuring no gaps between the gasket and the chinaware. Position the tank on the bowl, ensuring the plastic cone faces away from the bowl. Hand-tighten the tank bolts. Apply weight evenly and do not move after placement to avoid breaking the water-tight seal. Tighten handles alternately until the tank contacts the front and back of the bowl, achieving a china-to-china contact. (Note: To ease installation, push down on the top of the tank while tightening handles).
  2. Wax Ring: Apply the wax ring to the toilet bowl flange.
  3. Connecting Water Supply: Connect the water supply line (sold separately) to the fill valve. Hand-tighten the nut.
  4. Final Steps: Turn on the water supply.

Important Warnings:

Care and Cleaning

Wash your toilet with mild, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.

WARNING: Do not use in-tank cleaners. These products can seriously corrode fittings in the tank, causing leakage and property damage. American Standard shall not be responsible or liable for any damage caused by the use of in-tank cleaners.
