Assembly Steps
The initial steps (1-6) illustrate the various parts and hardware included in the kit. Familiarize yourself with each component before beginning assembly.
Step 7: Assemble Base and Main Frame
Construct the base of the coop by connecting base panels (1, 2, 3, 4). Then, attach the side panels (e.g., B, C, D, E) and the back panel (F) and front panel (G) to this base structure using screws (①, ②, ③). Ensure all connections are secure.
Step 8: Attach Remaining Side Walls
Secure the remaining side wall panels (H, I, J, K) to the assembled frame using screws (①, ②, ③). Align the panels carefully for a flush fit.
Step 9: Install Roof Supports
Attach the roof support beams (e.g., L, M) to the top edges of the side walls using screws (①, ②).
Step 10: Attach Roof Panels
Fix the roof panels (e.g., N, O) onto the installed roof supports using screws (①, ②, ⑤). Ensure the roof is properly sealed to protect from weather.
Step 11: Install Doors
Attach the door panels (a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m) to the front of the coop. Hinges and mounting points are indicated in the diagram. Use screws (e.g., ⑥, ⑦) as needed to secure the doors and ensure they operate smoothly.
Step 12: Install Internal Features
Install any internal components such as perches or dividers (P, Q, R, S) into the coop. Use the appropriate screws (e.g., ①, ②) for these fittings.
Step 13: Attach Exterior Panels
Affix the remaining exterior panels (T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z) to complete the structure. Use screws (①, ②, ③) for these final exterior attachments.
Step 14: Final Inspection
Perform a final check to ensure all screws are tightened and all panels are securely attached. The chicken coop is now fully assembled.
Product Care and Placement
To extend the life of the hutch, it is advisable to treat the wood with an appropriate coating. The best location for the hutch is under a porch or overhang, on the side away from direct exposure to the elements and prevailing weather conditions.
