Getting Started: Logging In
This guide outlines the process for activating push notifications for your GX Remote Control service.
The process involves using the mobile application to connect to your Galaxy Intruder panel.
Step 1: Log in to the site via the App
- Open the application.
- Select your site from the list (e.g., 'My business', 'Home', 'Parents' house'). You can also add a new site.
- The app displays the current status of your panel (e.g., UNSET, SET, PART SET, NIGHT SET).
- Navigate to the main menu, which typically includes options like Security, Events, Outputs, Keypad, Push Notifications, and Logout.
One-time Registration for Push Service
To use the push notification service, a one-time registration is required. You have three primary options:
- Register for Service: Use this if you have not yet set up an account for the push service.
- Manage service: Access existing service settings.
- Reset password: Recover or change your account password.
Registering for the Service
To register for the push service:
- Select the 'Register for Service' option.
- Create a server account: You will need to provide an email address and create a password.
- Create a panel account: Check the box labeled 'Also create panel account'.
- Confirmation: A confirmation email will be sent to the provided email address.
- Important: Click on the confirmation link within the email to activate your account.
Password Requirements: Your password must meet specific criteria, typically including:
- 8 or more characters.
- At least one alphabet character.
- At least one number or special character.
Creating a Panel Account
After initiating registration, you will proceed to create a panel account:
- Type in the site name: Enter a name to identify this specific account.
- Note: This site name should be identical to the name used when logging into the site via the app.
Upon successful creation, the app will generate an installer-only Account Number and Destination IP address. These details are crucial for programming your Galaxy panel.
Action Required:
- Contact your Security Installer.
- Provide the generated Account Number and Destination IP to your installer. They will use this information to program your Galaxy panel for the push notification service.
Adding Your Mobile Device
Once your panel is programmed, you can add your mobile device to receive notifications:
- In the app, select 'Manage Service'.
- Log in using your personal account credentials (email and password).
- Select 'Manage panel accounts'.
- Choose the specific panel for which you want to add a mobile device and click 'OK'.
- Select 'Add mobile device'.
- Name your device: Enter a name to identify your mobile device (e.g., 'My Android').
- Click 'Add'.
Upon successful registration of your mobile device, a confirmation message will appear, indicating that the push notification service is now activated.
