Product Overview
The Suprema XPass 2 is an outdoor compact RFID device built on Suprema's advanced RFID technology and multi-hardware platform. It offers versatile installation options with its multi-form factor design, supporting mullion-type (XP2-MDPB), gangbox-type (XP2-GDPB), and gangbox keypad-type (XP2-GKDPB) configurations.
The device supports dual-frequency RFID technology (125kHz / 13.56MHz) and can read mobile credentials via NFC and BLE. It is engineered for durability, featuring IP67 rated dust and waterproof performance and IK08 rated vandal-proof construction, making it ideal for demanding outdoor environments.
Available Models: XP2-MDPB (Mullion), XP2-GDPB (Gangbox), XP2-GKDPB (Gangbox Keypad).

* DESFire EV2 cards are supported via backward compatibility with DESFire EV1 cards. CSN and smart card functions are compatible with XPass 2.
System Configurations
Standalone-Secure Configuration
In a Standalone-Secure setup, the XPass 2 reader communicates with a Suprema Secure I/O 2 device. The Secure I/O 2 manages the door lock and exit button, providing enhanced security and control. This configuration allows the reader to operate independently or as part of a larger system, with the Secure I/O 2 handling critical access control functions.
Standalone Configuration
The Standalone configuration shows the XPass 2 reader directly controlling a door lock and interacting with an exit button. This is a simpler setup suitable for basic access control needs where a separate security controller is not required.
Distributed Access Control Systems
For comprehensive access control, the XPass 2 integrates into distributed systems. It connects via TCP/IP to a BioStar 2 Server, which can be accessed remotely through WAN/Internet via BioStar 2 Mobile or a Web Browser (BioStar 2 Client). The system can also integrate with other Suprema devices like the DE-620 (Smartcard Reader/Writer) and BioMini (Fingerprint Enrollment Device) for multi-modal authentication.
