The First Alert SC5 Battery Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm (Model SMCO600NV-A) is a dual-action safety device designed to protect homes from fire and carbon monoxide hazards. It features wireless interconnection, voice alerts, and compatibility with Google Nest Protect.

Architectural and Engineering Specifications
The smoke & CO alarm shall be a First Alert Model SMCO600NV-A and shall provide at a minimum the following features and functions:
- A photoelectric smoke sensing chamber and an electrochemical CO sensor, both with a 10-year service life.
- Powered by six 3V CR123A lithium batteries and a solid-state piezo horn rated at 85dB at 10 ft.
- A Voice Warning of Smoke or Carbon Monoxide detected, in addition to speaking several pre-programmed locations, e.g., "Warning, Evacuate, Smoke in Basement."
- Visual LEDs for power-on indication, confirming unit is receiving power or is in alarm.
- A full-function test button that checks all alarm functions by stimulating the chamber to simulate a smoke condition, causing the unit to alarm.
- Capable of operating between 40°F (4.4°C) and 100°F (38°C) and relative humidity between 20% and 95%.
- The CO sensor is adjusted not to detect CO levels below 30 PPM and will not alarm when exposed to constant levels of 30 PPM for 30 days. It will alarm at the following levels: 400 PPM CO between 4 and 15 minutes, 150 PPM CO between 10 and 50 minutes, and 70 PPM CO between 60 and 240 minutes.
- An "End of Life" signal (5 chirps). This signal should be capable of temporarily being silenced for up to 2 days. After about 2 days, the signal will resume. After about 2 weeks, the signal cannot be silenced.
- Capable of wireless interconnection of up to 18 alarms.
- Meets the applicable requirements of CAN/ULC STD S531 & CSA STD 6.19-17.
Installation of Alarm
Installation of this smoke & CO alarm must conform to CSA STD 6.19-17. Always check your local building codes. Follow all instructions for placement as outlined in the Installation & Reference Manual in sections titled "Where To Install This Alarm" and "Where Not To Install This Alarm."
