Bluetooth Performance and Connectivity

  • Bluetooth Range: The SoundLink Flex offers stable Bluetooth operation up to 9 meters (30 ft), though performance can be affected by obstacles and interference. It utilizes Bluetooth 4.2 for reliable connectivity.
  • Device Pairing: The speaker can remember up to 8 paired devices and connects to the two most recently used devices. It plays audio from only one device at a time.
  • Connecting to a Phone: Users can manually pair their mobile device by enabling Bluetooth, powering on the SoundLink Flex, and pressing the Bluetooth button. The speaker's Bluetooth light will indicate connection status.
  • Pairing with Another Bose Speaker: Two Bose Bluetooth speakers can be paired for Party Mode or Stereo Mode, either through the Bose Connect app or manually by pressing specific button combinations on the speakers.

Speaker Features and Functionality

  • Multi-function Button: This button controls playback (play, pause, track forward/backward), activates voice control, answers/rejects calls, and ends active calls.

  • Floating: The SoundLink Flex speaker will float in water.

Battery and Charging

  • Battery Life: The SoundLink Flex provides up to 12 hours of battery life for music playback and up to 17 hours for podcasts or voice calls under typical usage conditions.
  • Charging: The speaker uses a USB-C charging interface and can be powered by most USB sources. For optimal charging, a USB power source rated for at least 1.5 amp is recommended. Charging typically takes 3-4 hours.
  • Charging Port Durability: The USB-C charging port is waterproof and dustproof, with internal components sealed for protection.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: The speaker can be cleaned with lukewarm tap water and a microfiber cloth. Rinse with fresh water if exposed to salt or chlorinated water. Avoid using detergents or alcohol. Ensure the charging port is dry before connecting to power.
  • Utility Loop: The utility loop is designed for durability but is not user-replaceable. If it breaks, the unit requires professional repair by Bose.
