Turning the Controller On/Off
To turn on: Simply press the Home button. The controller will connect to the last synced iPhone®.
To turn off: Hold down the Home button for 6 seconds. The controller also turns off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity to save battery power.
First Start-up of the Controller
Turn on the controller. All 4 LEDs will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode. Go to your iPhone®'s Bluetooth® menu, start a device search, and select 'MG-X MFI' when it appears in the list of paired devices.
Syncing Your iPhone® with the Nacon MG-X Controller
Go to your iPhone®'s Bluetooth® menu and start a device search. Press the Home button on the controller; the status LEDs will light up one by one. Press and hold the Bluetooth® button on the lower right-hand side for 2 seconds to initiate pairing. All 4 LEDs will flash simultaneously. Select 'MG-X MFI' on your iPhone® when it appears in the list of paired devices.
The controller can store up to 5 devices and will always try to connect to the most recent device first.
To reset the list of stored devices: Turn on the controller by holding the Home button. Once turned on, release the Home button. Then, press and hold both the Home and Bluetooth buttons for 5 seconds. The controller will return to pairing mode.
Battery Level Indicator
Double-click the Home button to check the battery level. The LEDs indicate the charge level:
- Full (100%): 4 LEDs lit
- Almost full (≥75%): 3 LEDs lit
- Medium (≥50%): 2 LEDs lit
- Low (25%): 1 LED lit
- Very low (<25%): No LEDs lit
- Critically low (<10%): LED 1 flashes
Charging the Controller
Connect the provided USB-C cable to the controller's charging port and then to a USB port on your PC or charger. The LEDs will light up one by one to indicate charging. All four LEDs lit indicate a full charge.
Quickly Changing the iPhone® Connected to Your Controller
To switch between previously connected iPhones®, quickly double-click the Bluetooth® button.
Product Reset
If you encounter difficulties, you can reset the controller. Insert a paper clip or SIM card tool into the reset hole on the back of the controller and press the button. The controller will turn off and can be turned on again via the Home button.
Compatibility
The Nacon MG-X controller supports Microsoft's cloud gaming service (Xbox Game Pass subscription required). It is also compatible with App Store games that support controllers. Check the game's page in the Apple App Store for a controller logo near the game's rating.
Reconfiguring Controller Buttons
Button remapping is available through your iPhone®'s settings: Settings > General > Controller > Custom Controls. You can restore default settings by selecting 'Restore default values'. This feature is supported by the Apple® phone system.
Additional Functions of the Options Button
In your iPhone® menus, you can assign functions to the Options button for quick access via a double tap or long press, such as:
- Take a screenshot
- Start/stop recording
- Capture a highlight
Configuration is done via Settings > General > Controller > Custom Controls > 'SHARING GESTURES' section. This option is supported by the Apple® phone system.
Mobile Application
Connect the Nacon MG-X controller to the 'Nacon MG-X Series' mobile application, available on the App Store, to update your controller and access more features.
Positioning Your iPhone®
Place your iPhone® in the dedicated slot to secure it. If your phone has a case, it might prevent a proper fit; removing the case is recommended. Be careful not to pinch your fingers in the sliding system when removing your iPhone®.
Recycling
This product contains a battery that must be disposed of according to EU directive 2006/66/EC. Please follow local rules for separate battery collection to protect human health and the environment. The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol indicates that electrical and electronic waste and batteries must be collected separately from normal household waste.
Important Precautions
- Designed for indoor use only. Avoid direct sunlight or adverse weather conditions.
- Do not expose to splashes, rain, drips, or moisture. Do not immerse in liquid.
- Avoid dust, high humidity, extreme temperatures, and mechanical shocks.
- Do not use or open if damaged. Do not attempt repairs.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Detergents can damage the finish.
- Never carry the product by its cable.
- This product is not intended for use by individuals with physical, sensory, or mental disabilities, or those lacking experience or knowledge, unless supervised.
- Do not leave the product unattended or within reach of children. Not suitable for children under 7 years old due to the risk of strangulation from the cable.
- Maximum operating temperature: 35°C.
Precautions for Using the Battery
WARNING:
- Do not attempt to open or remove the built-in battery, as this may cause damage or injury.
- If the battery is replaceable, use only Nacon/RIG supplied batteries. Dispose of used batteries at appropriate collection centers.
- The battery must be recycled or disposed of properly. Contact your local recycling center for instructions.
- Battery life is limited and decreases with use and time. Charging time may increase over time. Battery life depends on usage, storage, environment, and other factors.
- Charging effectiveness may vary in different environments.
- If not used for a long period, charge the battery at least once a year to maintain its operational status.
WARNING: Risk of fire, explosion, and burns.
- Do not leave the battery charged for extended periods without use.
- Keep metal objects away from the battery and its holder.
- Do not attempt to open or damage the battery. It may contain corrosive or toxic substances.
- Never put a battery in your mouth. Seek medical attention if ingested.
- If battery contents contact skin or eyes, wash thoroughly with water and seek medical attention.
- Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children.
- Never throw a battery into fire or an oven, as crushing or cutting can cause an explosion.
- Avoid extreme temperatures, low air pressure at high altitudes, or flammable liquids/gases during use, storage, or transport, as this may result in an explosion or leakage.
Ergonomics
Prolonged static hand positions can cause pain. Consult a doctor if this occurs repeatedly. Take a 15-minute break every hour.
