T101-07 SOFTWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS S6.06
Tools Needed
- 1 Blank USB Flash Drive, 1GB or larger [USB drive]
- Desktop or Laptop Computer w/ USB Drive [computer]
- Internet Connection [internet]
Performing Update
- Remove all content from USB. Make sure USB is formatted to FAT32.
- Insert USB into computer's USB drive [USB drive].
- Using File Explorer, find the USB drive. Left-click [left-click] on drive and select FORMAT [format]. "File system" is set to FAT32.
- Right-click [right-click] “Start”.
- Download the file to a known location. Windows default is normally “Downloads” [folder].
- Show the downloaded file. In this example Chrome is used.
A file explorer window is shown, displaying a downloaded ZIP file named 'Horizon-T101-05-_S9.02.zip'. Options like 'Open', 'Open in new window', 'Share with Skype', and 'Extract All...' are visible. The 'Show in folder' option is selected.
- Click the folder to highlight it, and then right-click [right-click] the folder to open the drop-down menu; select "Extract All..." [extract].
A file explorer window shows the path 'Windows (C:) > Users > John. Smith > Downloads'. A context menu is displayed after a right-click, with 'Extract All...' highlighted.
- Left-click [left-click] "Browse...". Your location will be different.
The 'Select a Destination and Extract Files' dialog box is shown. The 'Files will be extracted to this folder:' field displays a path, and a 'Browse...' button is available. A checkbox 'Show extracted files when complete' is also visible.
- On the left side of the window, locate your flash drive (remember the name from Step 1); click [click] it to highlight it, and then click “Select Folder” [select folder]. Your drive letter and name might be different.
The file explorer's left pane shows navigation options including 'Desktop', 'Documents', 'Downloads', and 'FLASH DISK (E:)'. The right pane shows the contents of the selected drive. The 'Select a destination' dialog is open, with 'FLASH DISK (E:)' highlighted, and a 'Select Folder' button is visible.
- Select "Extract” [extract]. Note your drive letter might be different than “E:\”.
The 'Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders' dialog is displayed, showing the destination folder and a button to 'Extract'. A checkbox 'Show extracted files when complete' is present.
Once the extraction is complete, the contents of the zipped folder will appear on the next screen. Do not make any changes to these files.
- Verify the following folders “HORIZON/FW”. Right-click [right-click] your flash drive and select “Eject” [eject] to safely remove it from your computer.
- Your treadmill should be plugged into a power source [power source] and turned on with the safety key [safety key] inserted.
- Insert the thumb drive [USB drive] into the USB port [USB port] on the right side of the console. When the LED lights [LED lights] show “UPO-CO-FIL”, press the ENTER button [ENTER button]. If the LED lights do not show “UPO-CO-FIL”, remove and reinsert the USB multiple times until you see “UPO-CO-FIL”.
If the console still does not update, please return to www.horizonfitness.com/support and select the option to have a USB with pre-loaded software sent to you in the mail.
- After 5-10 seconds the console will reboot [reboot] and display the updated software version S6.06, followed by P1 and UP0-CO-FIL. Remove the USB immediately when you see P1 or UPO-CO-FIL and your software update is complete.
