1.3 Range of Appliance Use
Normal Use: This appliance is designed for cooling food in residential settings and similar environments, such as staff kitchens, bed and breakfasts, hotels, motels, and other accommodations. It is also suitable for catering and similar wholesale services.
Prohibited Uses: The appliance is not intended for use as a built-in unit. Other prohibited uses include the storage and cooling of medications, blood plasma, laboratory preparations, or similar substances governed by the Medical Device Directive 2007/47/EC, and use in areas with an explosion risk.

2 General Safety Instructions
Dangers for the user:
- Children aged 3 to 8 may load and unload the appliance. Children under 3 should be kept away unless constantly supervised.

3 Start-up
3.1 Turning on the Appliance
Ensure the appliance is set up and connected correctly. Remove all transport safety devices, adhesive strips, and protective films. Remove any advertising material from drawers.
To turn on the appliance, select the power symbol [power-symbol] on the display. After switching on, select your preferred language.
If the DemoMode is displayed, it can be deactivated by pressing and holding the DemoMode button for 3 seconds within the first 5 minutes.
Note: For optimal results, store frozen produce at -18°C or colder.
3.2 Insert the Equipment
Install the supplied equipment for optimal use of the appliance. Consider purchasing and installing the SmartDevice Box for smart connectivity (refer to https://smartdevice.liebherr.com/install) and install the Liebherr SmartDevice app (refer to https://apps.home.liebherr.com/).

4 Food Management
4.1 Storing Food
WARNING: Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments unless recommended by the manufacturer.
Note: Ensure adequate ventilation by keeping air slots unobstructed to maintain optimal energy consumption and cooling performance.
Follow these guidelines for proper food storage:
- Do not obstruct air vents on the back wall or fan.
- Seal food properly.
- Store raw meat and fish in clean, sealed containers to prevent cross-contamination.
- Arrange food with space between items for good air circulation.
Note: Failure to follow these guidelines can lead to food spoilage.
4.1.1 Freezer
The freezer compartment operates at a dry, frosty climate of -18°C, suitable for long-term storage, ice cube preparation, and freezing fresh food.
Freezing Food
You can freeze a quantity of fresh food within 24 hours as indicated on the nameplate under "freezing capacity". To ensure quick freezing to the core, adhere to the following quantities per pack:
- Fruit, vegetables: up to 1 kg
- Meat: up to 2.5 kg
Note: Activate SuperFrost if the amount of food to freeze exceeds approximately 2 kg. Activate it about 6 hours prior for smaller quantities and 24 hours prior for maximum quantities.
Defrosting Food
Food can be defrosted in the fridge compartment, microwave, oven, or at room temperature.
WARNING: Do not refreeze defrosted food. Use defrosted food as quickly as possible.
Freezer Tray
The freezer tray is ideal for berries, herbs, and vegetables, preventing them from freezing together and allowing for easier portioning. It can also be used to store freezer packs.

5 Energy Saving
- Ensure good ventilation and do not obstruct ventilation openings or grilles.
- Do not block air slits in the fan.
- Avoid placing the appliance in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
- Warmer ambient temperatures can increase energy consumption.
- Open the appliance door only for the necessary duration.
- Lower temperature settings increase energy consumption.
- Wrap and cover all food stored in the appliance to prevent frost buildup.
- Allow warm foods to cool to room temperature before storing.
6 Use
6.1 Controls and Displays
The display provides information on temperature settings, functions, and status. Functions and settings can be activated/deactivated or adjusted.
6.1.1 Status Display
The Status display shows the set temperatures and serves as the home display for navigating to options and settings.
6.1.2 Navigation
Navigate through the menu by swiping and confirming selections. An audible signal confirms actions. The display returns to the Status screen after 10 seconds of inactivity.
- Back: Confirm selection in a submenu to return to the menu, or tap to return to the function/setting.
- Back to Status display: Close and open the door, or wait 10 seconds.
6.1.3 Display Symbols
Symbols on the display indicate the appliance's current status:
- [standby-symbol]: Standby mode.
- [power-off-symbol]: The appliance or temperature zone is turned off.
- Flashing number: Appliance is working; temperature flashes until the set temperature is reached.
- Flashing symbol: Appliance is working; setting is being made.
6.2 Operating Logic
6.2.1 Activating/Deactivating Settings
You can activate or deactivate functions such as SuperFrost, IceMaker/MaxIce, PartyMode, and EnergySaver by swiping to the function and confirming with a short tap. A confirmation tone indicates the action.
6.2.2 Selecting Function Value
For functions like temperature setting and switching the appliance on/off, swipe to the function, tap to confirm, and then swipe to select the desired value. Tap again to confirm the value.
6.2.3 Activating/Deactivating Settings
Settings such as WiFi, Entry lock, SabbathMode, Reminders, Reset, and Switch off can be activated or deactivated. Short presses are used for some settings (e.g., WiFi, Reminders), while long presses (3 seconds) are used for others (e.g., Entry lock, SabbathMode, Reset, Switch off).
6.2.4 Selecting Setting Value
For settings like Display brightness, Door alarm, Temperature unit, and Language, navigate to the setting, tap to confirm, swipe to select the desired value, and tap again to confirm.
6.2.5 Calling Up the Customer Menu
Access the customer menu by navigating to Settings, then Appliance Information, and pressing for 3 seconds. Enter the numerical code 151 to access the menu, where you can select and adjust various settings.
6.3 Functions
Temperature
The recommended setting for the freezer compartment is -18°C. Adjust the temperature by selecting the temperature function and swiping to the desired value.
SuperFrost
SuperFrost provides maximum freezing capacity for rapid freezing of food. Activate it 6 hours before freezing small quantities or 24 hours before freezing larger quantities. The function automatically switches off after reaching the desired temperature.
PartyMode
PartyMode activates SuperFrost and IceMaker/MaxIce functions for convenience during parties. This mode automatically switches off after 24 hours.
EnergySaver
This function reduces energy consumption by increasing the cooling temperatures. For example, the freezer temperature may increase from -18°C to -16°C.
IceMaker / MaxIce®
This function activates ice cube production. MaxIce provides a higher production rate. Ensure the water supply is connected and the IceMaker is operational. It may take up to 24 hours for the first ice cubes to be produced.
6.4 Settings
Language
Select the display language from a list including German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Czech, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese.
Setting Up the WLAN Connection
Connect the appliance to the internet via the SmartDevice Box. This allows for management through the SmartDevice-App and integration into SmartHomeSystems. Follow the on-screen prompts to establish the WiFi connection.
Entry Lock
Activate the entry lock to prevent accidental operation of the appliance, especially by children.
Display Brightness
Adjust the display brightness to one of the following levels: 40%, 60%, 80%, or 100%.
Door Alarm
Set the time delay before the door alarm sounds (options: 1 min, 2 min, 3 min, or Off).
Temperature Unit
Choose between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) for temperature display.
Info
View appliance information such as model name, index, serial number, and service number. This section also provides access to the customer menu.
SabbathMode
SabbathMode meets religious requirements by disabling certain controls. When active, the display shows SabbathMode permanently, the display is locked, and functions like IceMaker and internal light are deactivated. The internal light remains on when the door is closed. Note that any power outages during SabbathMode are not saved, and the appliance will resume SabbathMode upon power restoration.
TubeClean*
This function cleans the IceMaker pipes. Ensure the IceMaker cleaning process is ready and place an empty container under the IceMaker. Activate TubeClean, and the rinsing process will complete automatically.
Ice Cubes*
Select the desired ice cube size through the Customer menu.
Reminder
Set reminders that are indicated acoustically and visually on the display.
Reset
This function resets all appliance settings to their factory defaults.
Turn Off Appliance
This setting allows you to turn off the entire appliance.
6.5 Warnings
Warnings are indicated by acoustic signals and visual symbols on the display.
- Close Door: Appears if the door is left open for too long. Confirm the message or close the door.
- Power Failure: Indicates a temperature rise after a power outage. The appliance resumes operation at the last setting once power is restored. Confirm the message to stop the alarm.
- Temperature Alarm: Appears if the temperature deviates from the set value due to factors like adding warm food, prolonged door opening, or power outages. Confirm the message to view the warmest temperature, then confirm again to return to the status display.
- Error: Indicates a fault with an appliance component. Note the error code, confirm the message to stop the acoustic warning, and contact Customer Service.
6.5.2 DemoMode
If "D" appears on the display, DemoMode is active, disabling cooling features. To switch it off, confirm within the countdown timer or disconnect and reconnect the power plug.
7 Equipment
7.1 Drawers
Drawers can be removed for cleaning. The method of removal varies depending on the pull-out system (telescopic rails, glass shelf, or molded ribs). Ensure adequate ventilation and do not obstruct interior rear wall vents.
7.1.1 Remove the Drawer
Follow specific instructions based on the drawer type, which may involve pulling the drawer out completely, lifting, and sliding rails or the drawer itself.
7.1.2 Inserting the Drawer
Reverse the removal process to insert the drawers, ensuring they are correctly seated on the rails or ribs.
7.2 Pull-out Board with IceTower*
The pull-out board with IceTower includes containers for ice cubes and tall foodstuffs. It is mounted on pull-out rails and can be dismantled for cleaning.
7.2.1 Dismantling the Pull-out Board with IceTower
Remove the ice cube container and hang-on tray first. Then, carefully detach the pull-out board by lifting it at the front left and right before removing it.
7.2.2 Inserting the Pull-out Board with IceTower
Insert the pull-out board by guiding the rails into place and ensuring the stops engage correctly. Then, insert the containers and the hang-on tray.
7.3 EasyTwist-Ice*
The EasyTwist-Ice system produces ice cubes using a water tank. Ensure the system is clean and the water tank is properly filled with potable water.
7.3.1 Filling the Water Tank
Lift the water tank at the rear and remove it upwards. Fill with drinking water up to the marked level and reinsert the tank.
7.3.2 Producing Ice Cubes
Turn the knob to the right to release ice cubes. The production capacity depends on the freezer temperature. The maximum capacity of the ice cube drawer is 40 cubes.
7.4 IceMaker*
The IceMaker produces ice cubes in household quantities. Ensure it is clean and the drawer is fully inserted. Activate the IceMaker and, if needed, the MaxIce function for increased production. It may take up to 24 hours for the first ice cubes to be produced.
7.5 VarioSpace
Remove drawers and glass panels to create more space for large food items like poultry or bulky baked goods, allowing them to be frozen whole.
7.6 Accessories
7.6.1 Freezer Packs
Freezer packs help maintain low temperatures during power failures. Place fully frozen packs on top of frozen goods in the front part of the freezer.
7.6.2 Ice Cube Tray with Lid*
To release ice cubes, briefly hold the tray under warm water, remove the lid, and gently twist the ends of the tray in opposite directions.
8 Maintenance
8.1 Defrosting the Appliance
8.1.1 Defrosting with NoFrost
The NoFrost system automatically defrosts the appliance, eliminating the need for manual defrosting. Water droplets may collect at the bottom; place a towel in front of the appliance when decommissioning it.
8.2 Cleaning the Appliance
8.2.1 Preparation
WARNING: Unplug the appliance or disconnect the power before cleaning. Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
8.2.2 Cleaning the Housing
Use only soft, pH-neutral cleaning cloths and cleaners. Avoid abrasive materials. Do not use steam cleaners.
8.2.3 Cleaning the Interior
Clean plastic and metal surfaces with a soft cloth, lukewarm water, and a mild detergent.
8.2.4 Cleaning the Equipment
Clean components like the IceTower pull-out board, drawers, and freezer tray with a soft cloth, lukewarm water, and mild detergent. Retracting rails should be cleaned with a damp cloth, preserving the lubrication grease. Ice cube trays and scoops can be cleaned in a dishwasher up to 60°C.
8.2.5 Cleaning the EasyTwist-Ice*
Clean the EasyTwist-Ice system, water tank, and ice cube drawer with water and mild detergent. Reassemble carefully. Dispose of ice cubes produced within the first 24-48 hours after cleaning.
8.2.6 Cleaning the IceMaker*
For initial commissioning or after prolonged disuse, clean the IceMaker using the TubeClean function. Place a container under the IceMaker, activate TubeClean, and then clean the IceMaker drawer with warm water and detergent.
8.2.7 After Cleaning
Wipe the appliance and equipment dry. Switch on the appliance, activate SuperFrost, and then place food inside once the temperature is sufficiently low. Repeat cleaning regularly.
9 Customer Support
9.1 Technical Specifications
Refer to the nameplate for detailed technical specifications, including temperature ranges, freezing capacity, equipment capacity, and ice cube production rates. For appliances with WiFi, frequency band is 2.4 GHz with maximum radiated power <100 mW.
9.2 Operating Noises
The appliance may produce various operating noises, such as bubbling, hissing, humming, whirring, clicking, or rattling. These are normal and depend on the cooling output, fan operation, and ambient conditions.
- Vibration: Ensure the appliance is level by adjusting the feet.
- Clattering: Secure equipment parts and leave space between items inside the appliance.
9.3 Technical Faults
Troubleshoot common issues such as the appliance not working, insufficient cooling, or the status display not turning on. If the defect persists, contact Customer Service.
9.3.2 Equipment Faults
Address issues with the IceMaker not switching on or not producing ice cubes. Ensure proper connection, activation, and drawer closure.
9.4 Customer Service
Before contacting Customer Service, check the troubleshooting section to resolve issues yourself. When contacting, have the appliance name (model and index), service number, and serial number ready. This information can be found on the nameplate or displayed on the appliance.
9.5 Rating Plate
The rating plate, located behind the drawers, contains essential appliance information, including the appliance name, service number, and serial number.
10 Decommissioning
To decommission the appliance:
- Empty the appliance and switch off the IceMaker and the appliance itself.
- Pull out the power plug.
- Clean the appliance as described in section 8.2.
- Leave the door open to prevent odors.
11 Disposal
Preparing Appliance for Disposal
Remove batteries and lamps if possible without damaging them before disposal. Batteries should be disposed of separately.
