Yi Smart Camera Instruction Manual
This document provides instructions for setting up and using the Yi Smart Camera.
Download Yi Smart App
To get started, download the Yi Smart app:
- Search for "Yi Smart app" in Google Play or the App Store.
- The app is by Kami Vision.
Sign Up and Log In
Follow these steps to create an account and log in:
- Enter your email address.
- Enter your password.
- You can also use other login methods like Facebook.
- Select your country from the dropdown menu.
- Click 'Sign up' to create a new account or 'Login' to access an existing one.
- If you forget your password, there is a 'Forgot Password' option.
How to Add Camera
To add your Yi Smart Camera to the app:
- Open the Yi Smart app and navigate to the 'Welcome' screen.
- Click the '+' icon or the 'Click Here to Add Camera Device' button.
How to Connect with Wi-Fi
When the camera is powered on, it will beep continuously, waiting for a connection.
- On the app, select your connection mode. Choose 'WiFi connection' to connect through Wi-Fi.
- Power on the device and wait for about 20 seconds until you hear beeps.
- If you hear beeps, proceed. If not, press and hold the 'RESET' button on the camera for more than 5 seconds until you hear beeps, indicating a successful reset.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- Note: Some models support only 2.4G or 5G WiFi. Refer to product hardware information. Ensure your phone's location services are enabled.
QR Code Binding:
- On the app, select 'QR code faces camera directly'.
- Scan the QR code displayed on your mobile phone with the camera.
- The device will emit a prompt sound like "QR code scan successful" and "WiFi connected".
- Click 'Next' and wait for the network configuration to complete.
- If the camera connects successfully, the app will display the next page.
Connecting Cameras via Hotspot
(Note: This section applies to some models. Check product packaging for Hotspot binding support.)
This method is suitable for places without Wi-Fi or when the device lacks internet access.
- Ensure the mobile phone and device are within 15 meters of each other.
- Press the 'RESET' button on the device until you hear a music prompt, then wait for the self-test to complete.
- Open the mobile app, click '+' in the upper right corner, and select 'Hotspot config to wifi'.
- Click 'Hotspot Direct Watch', then 'connect'. Find the network name starting with "CAM_", e.g., CAM_XXXXXX, and click 'connect'. Enter the password: 12345678.
- Return to the app and wait for network configuration.
- Tips: Turn off mobile data before starting. If prompted about the WLAN network not accessing the internet, click "Keep connected".

How to Use App
The app interface provides various functions:
- Camera setting: Access camera-specific settings.
- Full screen: View the camera feed in full screen.
- Local record: Record footage locally.
- Hear sound of device: Listen to audio from the camera.
- Voice intercom: Communicate through the camera.
- Local screenshot: Capture still images from the feed.
- PTZ control: Control the camera's pan, tilt, and zoom (if available).
- Playback: Review recorded footage.
- Alert messages: View motion detection or other alerts.
Note: Available functions may vary based on camera hardware. PTZ controls are only present for PTZ-enabled cameras.
Common Problems
Q: The camera is offline.
- Check the power supply.
- Power cycle the device to reconnect.
- Ensure strong signal coverage and minimize interference.
Q: How does the camera store video?
- The camera supports the F32 format with up to 128GB capacity. It records automatically and overwrites old footage when full.
- Cloud storage service can also be enabled.
