1. Select FAN mode using the [MODE] button. 2. Set the fan speed. 3. Turn on the air conditioner using the [ON/OFF] button.
Note: In FAN mode, you cannot set the temperature; therefore, no temperature displays on the remote screen.
Setting the TIMER
TIMER ON/OFF: Set the amount of time after which the unit will automatically turn on/off.
TIMER ON Setting
1. Press the [TIMER] button to initiate the ON time sequence. 2. Press the [TEMP ▲] or [TEMP ▼] button multiple times to set the desired time to turn on the unit. 3. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER ON will be activated.

NOTE:
- When setting TIMER ON or TIMER OFF, the time increases by 30-minute increments up to 10 hours. After 10 hours and up to 24, it increases in 1-hour increments (e.g., 5 presses = 2.5h, 10 presses = 5h). The timer reverts to 0.0 after 24 hours.
- Cancel either function by setting its timer to 0.0h.
TIMER ON & OFF Setting (Example)
Keep in mind that the time periods you set for both functions refer to hours after the current time.
Example: If the current time is 1:00 PM, to set the timer as described, the unit will turn on 2.5 hours later (3:30 PM) and turn off at 6:00 PM.
How to Use Advanced Functions
Swing Function
Press the [SWING] button: The horizontal louver will swing up and down automatically. Press again to stop it.
Airflow Direction: Keep pressing the [SWING] button for more than 2 seconds to activate the vertical louver swing function (model dependent). Continue pressing the [SWING] button to cycle through five different airflow directions until your preferred direction is reached.
NOTE: When the unit is off, press and hold [MODE] and [SWING] buttons together for one second to open the louver for cleaning. Press and hold [MODE] and [SWING] buttons together for one second to reset the louver (model dependent).
LED DISPLAY
Press the [LED] button to turn the indoor unit's LED display and buzzer on and off (model dependent) for a comfortable and quiet environment.
Press the [LED] button for more than 5 seconds (some units): The indoor unit will display the actual room temperature. Pressing again for more than 5 seconds will revert back to displaying the setting temperature.
ECO/GEAR Function
Press the [ECO/GEAR] button to enter the energy-efficient mode in a sequence: ECO → GEAR(75%) → GEAR(50%) → Previous setting mode → ECO. This function is only available under COOL mode.
ECO Operation:
Under cooling mode, pressing the [ECO/GEAR] button adjusts the temperature automatically to 24°C/75°F and sets fan speed to AUTO to save energy (if the set temperature is less than 24°C/75°F). If the set temperature is above 24°C/75°F, pressing the [ECO] button changes the fan speed to AUTO, while the set temperature remains unchanged.
NOTE: Pressing the [ECO/GEAR] button, modifying the mode, or adjusting the set temperature to less than 24°C/75°F will stop ECO operation. Under ECO operation, the set temperature should be 24°C/75°F or above; otherwise, it may result in insufficient cooling. If you feel uncomfortable, press the [ECO] button again to stop it.
GEAR Operation:
Press the [ECO/GEAR] button to enter GEAR operation: 75% (up to 75% electrical energy consumption) → 50% (up to 50% electrical energy consumption) → Previous setting mode.
Under GEAR operation, the display on the remote controller alternates between electrical energy consumption and set temperature.
SHORTCUT Function
Press the [SHORTCUT] button (some units): When the remote controller is on, the system automatically reverts to the previous settings, including operating mode, setting temperature, fan speed level, and sleep feature (if activated).
If pushed for more than 2 seconds, the system automatically restores the current operation settings, including operating mode, setting temperature, fan speed level, and sleep feature (if activated).
Silence, FP, and LOCK Functions
Silence Function
Keep pressing the [FAN] button for more than 2 seconds to activate/disable Silence function (some units). Due to low-frequency operation of the compressor, it may result in insufficient cooling and heating capacity. Pressing [ON/OFF], [MODE], [Sleep], [Turbo], or [Clean] buttons while operating will cancel the silence function.
FP Function
The unit will operate at high fan speed (while the compressor is on) with the temperature automatically set to 8°C/46°F.
Note: This function is for heat pump air conditioners only.
Press the [FP] button 2 times during one second under HEAT Mode and setting temperature of 16°C/60°F or 20°C/68°F (for specific models like RG10A10(D2S)/BGEF, RG10B10(D2)/BGEF and RG10B10(D2)/BGCEF) to activate FP function. Pressing [ON/OFF], [Sleep], [MODE], [FAN], and [TEMP] buttons while operating will cancel this function.
LOCK Function
Press the [Clean] and [Turbo] buttons together for more than 5 seconds to activate the Lock function. All buttons will not respond except for these two buttons, which can be pressed for two seconds again to disable locking.
SET Function
Press the [SET] button to enter the function setting. Then, press the [SET] button or [TEMP ▲]/[TEMP ▼] button to select the desired function. The selected symbol will flash on the display; press the [OK] button to confirm.
To cancel a selected function, perform the same procedures.
Press the [SET] button to scroll through operation functions: [Breeze Away], [Fresh], [Sleep], [Follow Me], [AP mode].
Note: If your remote controller has dedicated buttons for Breeze Away, Fresh, or Sleep, you cannot use the [SET] button to select these features.
Breeze Away Function (some units)
This feature avoids direct airflow blowing on the body, providing a silky coolness. Available under COOL, FAN, and DRY modes only.
FRESH Function (some units)
When the FRESH function is initiated, the ion generator is energized to help purify the air in the room.
Sleep Function
The SLEEP function is used to decrease energy use while you sleep, as you don't need the same temperature settings to stay comfortable. This function can only be activated via remote control. For details, see "sleep operation" in the "USER'S MANUAL".
Note: The SLEEP function is not available in FAN or DRY mode.
Follow Me Function
The FOLLOW ME function enables the remote control to measure the temperature at its current location and send this signal to the air conditioner every 3 minutes. When using AUTO, COOL, or HEAT modes, measuring ambient temperature from the remote control (instead of the indoor unit) optimizes the temperature around you for maximum comfort.
NOTE: Press and hold the [Turbo] button for seven seconds to start/stop the memory feature of the Follow Me function.
- If the memory feature is activated, "On" displays for 3 seconds.
- If the memory feature is stopped, "OF" displays for 3 seconds.
- While the memory feature is activated, pressing [ON/OFF], shifting the mode, or power failure will not cancel the Follow Me function.
AP Function (some units)
Choose AP mode for wireless network configuration. For some units, this does not work by pressing the [SET] button. To enter AP mode, continuously press the [LED] button seven times in 10 seconds.
