System Operation and Design

This system utilizes the proven Air Cell actuating mechanism, ensuring that all moving parts and switching components are situated remotely from bilge liquids. This design choice protects them from corrosion and rust, as all wetted parts are constructed from non-corrosive materials. The operation involves the capture of an air column within the MAC1 Air Volume Cell. As the bilge water level rises, it compresses this air column, generating pressure against the diaphragm of the BLS1 Bilge Level Switch, which then activates the switch. The switch's set point is adjustable, and it automatically resets once the bilge is pumped out, allowing the air cell to recharge during normal operation.

Construction and Materials

The BLS1 switch is built for durability in marine conditions, featuring bodies and covers made from aluminum or bronze, and a Buna-N diaphragm, materials known for their resistance to marine atmospheres.
