Installation Instructions
STEP 1 - Measure your TV hole pattern and assemble the TV bracket
Measure the width and height of your TV's VESA mounting hole pattern in centimeters to determine which TV bracket configuration fits your TV.
Record your measurements in cm: Width ______ cm x Height ______ cm.
Use the following conversion table:
inches | cm | mm |
---|---|---|
3 | 7.5 | 75 |
4 | 10 | 100 |
7 7/8 | 20 | 200 |
Determine which TV bracket configuration to use based on your measurements:
- Configuration A: For hole patterns 7.5 x 7.5 cm or 10 x 10 cm (TV bracket only).
- Configuration B: For hole patterns 20 x 20 cm (TV bracket with bracket extenders). Assemble the TV bracket as shown, with eight screws (3).
- Configuration C: For hole patterns 20 x 10 cm (TV bracket with bracket extenders). Assemble the TV bracket as shown, with eight screws (3).
NOTE: If your TV does not match one of these patterns, do not use this TV mount to mount your TV to the wall.
STEP 2 - Determine whether your TV has a flat back or an irregular or obstructed back
- Carefully place your TV screen face-down on a cushioned, clean surface to protect the screen from damages and scratches.
- If your TV has a table-top stand attached, remove the stand. Refer to your TV's documentation for instructions.
- Temporarily lay the TV bracket (1) on the back of your TV.
- Align the screw holes in the TV bracket with the mounting screw holes on your TV.
- Identify which type of back your TV may have:
- Flat back: The bracket lays flush against the back of your TV and does not block any jacks. You do not need spacers when assembling the wall mount.
- Obstructed back: The bracket blocks any of the jacks on the back of your TV. You will need spacers when assembling the wall mount.
- Irregularly-shaped back: There is a gap between the bracket and some part of the back of your TV. You will need spacers when assembling the wall mount.
- Remove the TV bracket.
STEP 3 - Select screws, washers, and spacers
Select the hardware for your TV (screws, washers, and spacers). Some TVs come with mounting hardware included. If your TV has screws, they are often already in the back mounting holes. If you are unsure of the correct screw length, test various sizes by hand threading them.
Select one of the following types of screws:
- M4 x 12 mm screws (4)
- M4 x 35 mm screws (7)
- M6 x 12 mm screws (5)
- M6 x 35 mm screws (8)
- M8 x 20 mm screws (6)
- M8 x 35 mm screws (9)
Select M4 washers (10) for M4 type screws, or M6/M8 washers (11) for M6 or M8 type screws.
For an irregular or obstructed TV back, use the universal spacers (12).
CAUTION: To avoid potential personal injuries and property damage, ensure there are adequate threads to secure the brackets to your TV. If you encounter resistance, stop immediately and contact customer service. Use the shortest screw and spacer combination that fits your TV. Using hardware that is too long may damage your TV. Using a screw that is too short may cause your TV to fall from the mount.
Visual guide for screw length:
- Screw fits correctly
- Screw is too long
- Screw is too short
Remove the screws.
For a flat back TV, proceed to “STEP 4 - Option 1: Attaching the mounting hardware to TVs with a flat back” on page 9.
For an irregular or obstructed back, proceed to “STEP 4 - Option 2: Attaching the mounting hardware to TVs with irregular or obstructed backs” on page 10.
STEP 4 - Option 1: Attaching the mounting hardware to TVs with a flat back
- Align the holes you noted on the TV bracket (1) with the screw holes on the back of your TV. Make sure the bracket is level.
- Place the washers (10 or 11) over the holes in the TV brackets that align with the screw holes on the back of your TV, then insert the screws (4, 5, or 6) through the washers.
- Tighten the screws until they are snug against the TV bracket. Do not overtighten.
NOTE: For 20 x 20 or 20 x 10 configurations, you may need to loosen the screws to align the bracket extenders. After the bracket extenders are secured to the back of your TV, re-tighten the screws.
You'll need:
- Screws (4, 5, or 6)
- Washers (10 or 11)
- TV Bracket (1) (configuration depends on TV)

- Tighten the screws until they are snug against the TV bracket. Do not overtighten.
NOTE: For 20 x 20 or 20 x 10 configurations, you may need to loosen the screws to align the bracket extenders. After the bracket extenders are secured to the back of your TV, re-tighten the screws.
You'll need:
- Screws (7, 8, or 9)
- Washers (10 or 11)
- Spacers (12)
- TV Bracket (1) (configuration depends on TV)
- Phillips screwdriver
- Level
STEP 5 - Determine wall-mount location
NOTE:
- For more detailed information on determining where to drill your holes, visit our online height-finder at: http://mf1.bestbuy.selectionassistant.com/index.php/heightfinder
- Your TV should be positioned so your eyes are level with the middle of the screen. Typically, this is 40 to 60 inches from the ground.
The center of your TV will match the center of the wall plate assembly (14). Before you drill holes in the wall:
- Measure the distance from the bottom of your TV to the middle of the four mounting screw holes. This is measurement a.
- Measure the distance from the floor to where you want the bottom of the TV to be placed on the wall. Keep in mind that the bottom of the TV should be placed above any furniture (such as entertainment centers or TV stands). The TV should also be above items placed on top of the furniture (like a Blu-ray player or cable box). This is measurement b.
- Add a + b. The total measurement is the height where you want the center of the wall plate assembly (14) to be on the wall.
- Use a pencil to mark this spot on the wall.
You'll need:
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
STEP 6 - Option 1: Installing on a wood stud wall
Note: Drywall covering the wall must not exceed 5/8" (16 mm).
- Locate the stud. Verify the center of the stud with an edge-to-edge stud finder.
- Align the center of the wall plate template (13) at the height you determined in the previous step and make sure that it is level. Tape the wall plate template to the wall, then use a pencil to mark the lag bolt hole locations (2) on the stud centers. Remove the wall plate template.
- Drill pilot holes to a depth of 2 3/4 in. (69 mm) using a 7/32 in. (5.5 mm) diameter drill bit.
Note on wood stud size: Minimum wood stud size: Common 2 x 4 in. (51 x 102 mm). Nominal 1.5 x 3.5 in. (38 x 89 mm).
- Remove the cover caps to expose the mounting holes in the wall plate assembly (14).
- Align the wall plate assembly (14) with the pilot holes, insert the lag bolts (15) through the holes in the wall plate assembly, then tighten the lag bolts only until they are firm against the wall plate assembly.
- CAUTION: Avoid potential injuries or property damage! DO NOT over-tighten the lag bolts (15).
- Replace the cover caps.
For level adjustments: If needed, you can make small level adjustments to the wall plate by loosening the bottom lag bolt and shifting the wall plate until it is level. Tighten the bottom lag bolt when the adjustments are complete.
You'll need:
- Lag bolt 15 (2)
- Level
- Edge-to-edge stud finder
- Wall plate assembly (14)
- Template (13)
- Drill
- Pencil
- 7/32" wood drill bit
- Tape
- 1/2" socket wrench
STEP 6 - Option 2: Installing on a solid concrete or concrete block wall
CAUTION: To prevent property damage or personal injury, never drill into mortar between blocks. Mount wall plate directly onto the concrete surface.
Note: Minimum solid concrete thickness: 8 in (203 mm). Minimum concrete block size: 8 x 8 x 16 in. (203 x 203 x 406 mm).
- Align the center of the wall plate template (13) at the height you determined in the previous step and make sure that it is level. Tape the wall plate template to the wall, then use a pencil to mark the lag bolt hole locations (2). Remove the wall plate template.
- Drill pilot holes to a depth of 3 in. (75 mm) using a 3/8 in. (10 mm) diameter masonry drill bit.
- Insert the concrete wall anchors (refer to Concrete Installation Kit CMK1 (not included) on page 4) into the pilot holes and use a hammer to make sure that the anchors are flush with the concrete surface.
- Remove the cover caps to expose the mounting holes in the wall plate assembly (14).
- Align the wall plate assembly (14) with the anchors, insert the lag bolts (C1) through the holes in the wall plate assembly, then tighten the lag bolts only until they are firm against the wall plate.
- CAUTION: Avoid potential injuries or property damage! DO NOT over-tighten the lag bolts (C1).
- Replace the cover caps.
For level adjustments: If needed, you can make small level adjustments to the wall plate by loosening the bottom lag bolt and shifting the wall plate until it is level. Tighten the bottom lag bolt when the adjustments are complete.
You'll need:
- Wall plate assembly (14)
- Template (13)
- Level
- Hammer
- Drill
- 1/2" socket wrench
- Concrete anchor C2 (2)
- Lag bolt C1 (2)

STEP 7 - Attach your TV to the wall plate
- To make it easier to attach your TV to the wall plate, position the arm of the wall plate assembly (14) so the elbow is bent 90 degrees and pressed against the wall.
- Hang the TV onto the arm of the wall plate assembly (14) by first hooking the top support, then lowering the bottom of the TV into place.
- Lock the TV to the wall plate assembly (14) with locking screw (16) and washer (17).
IMPORTANT: This locking screw (16) must be installed to secure the TV onto the wall plate assembly (14).
HEAVY! You will need assistance with this step.
STEP 8 - Managing cables
- Thread your cables into the channels on the arms of the wall plate assembly (14) as shown.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to pull the TV away from the wall to fully extend the arms so that you provide enough slack in the cables during operation.
STEP 9 - Making adjustments
- Your TV should tilt easily when moved, then stay in place. If your TV is too loose or too tight, adjust the tilt tension knob by hand.
- NOTE: Once your TV is in place, tighten the tilt tension knob to prevent unwanted movement.
- To level your TV, loosen the locking screw (16), level your TV, then tighten the screw.
- IMPORTANT: The locking screw (16) must be installed to secure the TV onto the wall plate assembly (14).
- Your TV should swivel easily, then stay in place. If your TV is too loose or too tight, adjust the arm tension screw using the hex key (18) and a 14 mm (9/16 in.) socket.
- Your TV's arm should extend and retract easily, and stay in place when moved. If your TV is too loose or too tight, adjust the arm tension screws using the hex key (18).
Removing the TV from the wall mount
- To remove your TV from the wall plate assembly (14), disconnect all cables, then reverse the procedures in Step 6.
