ZY Cami app is an integrated part of the stabilizer. Download it on your phone from the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code for download (Android 7.0 above or iOS 10.0 above required).

About Complete User Guide

To reduce resource consumption, a paper version of the Quick Start Guide is provided instead of the Complete User Guide. Read the Complete User Guide through the following ways:

1. Scan the QR code on the right with your mobile phone's QR code scanner or app.
2. Click the icon on the top right corner of the home page in ZY Cami and enter the user manual.
3. Go to the ZHIYUN official website: www.zhiyun-tech.com for download.

Important: Please follow the steps below to learn the basic functions of SMOOTH-X and read the Complete User Guide carefully before using the product.

1. Charging

Connect the USB Type-C cable with an adapter (not provided, 5V2A recommended) to the charging port on the vertical arm. Charging is complete when the four indicator lights turn solid white.

2. Use

1. Rotate the handle 180° counterclockwise.
2. To unfold the vertical arm, pull it out and tilt the pan axis to a certain degree.
3. Rotate the vertical arm 180° counterclockwise (it can only be rotated in one direction).
4. Return the pan axis to the initial position.
5. The phone clamp can be rotated 90° clockwise.
6. When installing the phone, ensure the phone camera is on the left side of the clamp. Then balance the phone.

3. Power on, off and Standby

• Long press the power button for 3 seconds to power on/off the gimbal.
• Long press the M button for 2 seconds to enter or exit standby mode.

4. Basic Operation

• Control the gimbal direction
• Single press M button: Switch between working modes.
• Double press M button: Switch between portrait and landscape mode.
• Long press Power button: Power on or off.
• Single press Power button: Take photos or videos.
• Double press Power button: Switch between Photo and Video (connected with ZY Cami).
• Triple press Power button: Switch between front and rear camera (connected with ZY Cami).

Mode Switching

• Default mode (Pan Following Mode PF): Single press M button.
• Locking Mode (L): Single press M button from Default mode.
• Following Mode (F): Single press M button from Locking Mode.

5. Connecting ZY Cami

1. Power on the stabilizer and connect it to your camera with a camera control cable. Turn on Bluetooth of your smartphone.
2. Launch "ZY Cami" and choose the corresponding product page for SMOOTH-X. Tap "Connect now" to connect via Bluetooth. Check the USER ID on the bottom of the quick release plate for the stabilizer's Bluetooth name.

Safe Operation Guidelines

WARNING:

1. Prevent contact with liquids. Do not expose to rain or moisture. Do not drop into water. Contact with water may cause chemical decomposition, potentially leading to battery fire or explosion.
2. If the product catches fire, use water, water spray, sand, fire blanket, dry powder, or carbon dioxide fire extinguisher.
3. Use the product within the temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
4. Do not disassemble or puncture the battery with sharp objects, as it may leak, catch fire, or explode.
5. Do not strike, crush, or throw the battery. Do not place heavy objects on the battery or charger.
6. Do not heat the battery. Do not place it in a microwave oven or pressurized container.
7. Keep the product away from heat sources like furnaces or heaters, or vehicles on hot days. Do not expose to temperatures over 60°C. Ideal storage temperature is 22°C-28°C.
8. Do not leave the battery unused for too long after complete discharge to prevent over-discharge, which can cause battery damage and permanent failure.

CAUTION:

1. SMOOTH-X is a high-precision device. Dropping or external force may cause damage and malfunction.
2. Ensure the stabilizer axis rotation is not blocked by external force when SMOOTH-X is turned on.
3. SMOOTH-X is not waterproof. Prevent contact with liquids or cleaners. Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
4. Protect SMOOTH-X from sand and dust during use.

NOTE:

1. The battery stops charging automatically when full. Disconnect the battery and charger when fully charged.
2. If the product is not used for over 10 days, discharge it to 40%-65% battery level to prolong battery life.
3. Discharge and recharge the battery every 3 months to keep it active.
4. When powering on SMOOTH-X, keep the handle stable. Shaking may result in startup failure.

Warranty Period

1. Customers are entitled to replacement or free repair for quality defects within 15 days of receipt.
2. Customers are entitled to free repair service from ZHIYUN for product failure due to material or workmanship defects during normal consumer usage within the 12-month warranty period from the date of sale. Warranty periods may vary by component and country of purchase. Contact ZHIYUN after-sales service for detailed warranty information.

Warranty Exclusions and Limitations

1. Products subjected to unauthorized repair, misuse, collision, neglect, mishandling, soaking, accident, and unauthorized alteration.
2. Products subjected to improper use or whose labels or security tags have been torn off or altered.
3. Products whose warranty has expired.
4. Products damaged due to force majeure (fire, flood, lightning, etc.).
