Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to assemble and mount your bike carrier.

  1. Step 1: Attach Support Arms

Connect the two support arms to the main carrier frame using the eight M6 bolts provided. Ensure they are securely fastened.

  2. Step 2: Attach Frame Clamps

Mount the four frame clamps onto the support arms. These will be used to secure the bicycle frames.

  3. Step 3: Attach Wheel Holders

Fix the four wheel holders to the main carrier frame. These are designed to hold the bicycle wheels.

  4. Step 4: Mount Carrier to Vehicle

Attach the bike carrier to your vehicle's tow bar or designated mounting point using the appropriate mounting brackets and hardware (large bolts, washers). Refer to your vehicle's manual for specific mounting procedures if necessary.

  5. Step 5: Position Bicycles

Place the bicycles onto the carrier, ensuring the wheels rest securely in the fitted wheel holders.

  6. Step 6: Secure Bicycle Frames

Use the frame clamps to secure each bicycle frame. Position the clamp around the frame and push until it clicks into place, indicating it is locked.

  7. Step 7: Secure Bicycle Wheels

Fasten the bicycle wheels using the provided wheel straps. Ensure they are tight enough to prevent movement.

  8. Step 8: Add Security Straps

For enhanced safety, attach the security straps as indicated in the diagrams to further stabilize the bicycles and the carrier.

Note: Always ensure all connections are tight and secure before driving.

Safety and Maintenance

Safety Precautions

  • Follow all instructions in this user manual carefully. Failure to do so may result in property damage, personal injury, or serious accidents.
  • Before every ride, inspect the bicycle carrier and all mounting materials (frame holders, wheel stoppers, safety straps) for good condition and sturdiness.
  • Replace any defective, damaged, or worn parts or straps before starting any journey.
  • Do not mount or use the bicycle carrier if it is damaged.
  • Do not use tarpaulins or any other type of cover on the bicycles while they are on the carrier.
  • Drive slowly over speed bumps and uneven surfaces, with a maximum speed of 10 km/h.
  • Regularly check the bicycle carrier and its load while driving. You are legally obligated to do so, and you will be held liable in case of damage.
  • Tradekar Benelux B.V. accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or misuse of the bicycle carrier.

Maintenance Guidelines

  • Under normal operating conditions, the bicycle carrier requires no specific maintenance.
  • If the carrier is used in coastal areas or during winter conditions (exposure to road salt/brine), it should be cleaned regularly.
  • Clean the carrier using a mild detergent, lukewarm water, and a soft cloth. Allow the carrier to air dry completely.
  • To prolong its lifespan, store the bicycle carrier in a dry and covered location.
  • The steel components are factory-treated with a powder coating to prevent corrosion. If this protective layer becomes damaged, the affected area should be professionally repaired as soon as possible.
  • Any modifications made to original parts, materials, or the carrier's construction may adversely affect its safety and effective use.
