LOWRANCE TRIPLESHOTT™ HD TRANSDUCER INSTALLATION GUIDE
Product Overview
An illustration of the Lowrance Tripleshot HD Transducer shows its design and mounting arm.
Transom Mount Guidelines
Diagrams illustrate recommended and prohibited transom mounting locations relative to the propeller and hull features. A central diagram shows specific measurement points (A-E) on the transom for optimal transducer placement, indicating correct (✔️) and incorrect (❌) positions:
- A: Planing strake - avoid mounting (❌)
- B: Avoid mounting within 1 m (3.3 ft) to port (left) of propeller (❌)
- C: Avoid mounting within 7.5 cm (3 in) to starboard of propeller (❌)
- D: Best mounting location - undisturbed water flow (✔️)
- E: Trim tabs can cause turbulence - avoid mounting (❌)
Assembly
An exploded view diagram details the components and steps for assembling the transducer's transom mounting bracket. Note: The torque setting is 1.70 Nm (15 lb-ft) ➡️.
Transom Installation
A three-step visual guide demonstrates the process of drilling pilot holes and securing the transducer to the boat's transom.
Recommended pilot holes:
Material | Diameter |
---|---|
Soft materials | Ø 3.7-4.0 mm (5/32") |
Hard materials | Ø 4.2-4.7 mm (3/16") |
➡️ Note: Use a high-quality marine sealant to fill the pilot holes.
Notes:
- The example above describes a conventional clockwise propeller rotation configuration. If the propeller spins counter-clockwise, mount on the port side.
- Mount the transducer away from hull openings, strakes, struts, trim tabs or any fittings that could disturb water flow over the transducer.
- If mounting the transducer in a location that comes out of the water, for example when the boat is planing, the sonar will not work while the transducer is out of the water.
