The Homematic IP Window and Door Contact in anthracite is part of the Homematic IP Smart-Home system and reliably monitors doors and windows. It uses an advanced optical sensor with an integrated infrared light barrier instead of traditional magnetic contacts, reducing the need for a separate magnet and simplifying installation. This sensor detects the open/closed state of doors or windows. Within the Homematic IP system, this compact sensor serves multiple purposes. It automatically reduces heating when a window or external door is opened, informing the Homematic IP radiator thermostat. A practical feature is the option to define a reporting delay for frequently used doors to prevent constant adjustments of the radiator valves. Furthermore, the sensor reliably monitors access to your home when you are away. With the alarm mode activated, the Homematic IP siren can be triggered in case of unauthorized window opening. The app also sends a push notification to the user, allowing them to react promptly to potential security threats. This small, 30-gram sensor operates efficiently, powered by a single AAA battery for approximately two years. The Homematic IP app will notify you when the battery level is low. The sensor's low weight allows for reliable attachment using double-sided adhesive tape, which is included along with a reflector foil.
