Installing Plugins
Plugins are software programs that enable HS4 to integrate with smart devices and technologies, such as Philips HUE smart bulbs. Install the relevant plugin for your devices. Learn More About Plugins
1. Open the HS4 web interface, navigate to the Plugins/Add page, select the desired plugin, and click INSTALL.
2. After installation, click the button in the lower-right corner to enable the plugin. Refer to the plugin's documentation for specific setup instructions.
Creating Devices
Devices are the fundamental building blocks of an HS4 system. Adding a smart product creates a corresponding device with controllable attributes (Features) that reflect the product's status. For example, controlling a device on/off in HS4 controls the physical product.
The HS4 interface displays devices in both Grid View and List View. A multisensor device example shows attributes like location ("Outside | Shed"), name ("Multi-sensor"), status ("Green"), current temperature ("77.6 F"), and luminance ("0 Lux"). Features like color control allow setting colors (Red, Green, Blue, Magenta, Yellow, Cyan, White) and device status (On/Off). It also displays sensor data such as "Home Security" status ("No Motion") and "Temperature" ("59.4 F").
Device setup is managed through individual plugins. Refer to specific plugin documentation for detailed procedures. Learn More About Devices
Creating Events
Events automate smart devices by defining rules with Triggers and Actions. Conditions can also be added to triggers. For example, an event can turn on a living room lamp at sunset on Tuesdays.
An event is structured with an "IF" condition (Trigger), optional "AND IF" conditions (Conditions), and a "THEN" action. The example shows a trigger based on time ("The time is sunset. (7:22:43 PM)"), a condition based on the day of the week ("The day of the week is Tuesday"), and an action to "Set Device: First Floor Living Room Floor Lamp to On".
