TP-Link Tapo C510W Outdoor Security Wi-Fi Camera Quick Start Guide

1. Set Up Your Camera

Follow these steps to set up your Tapo camera.

1. Step 1: Download App

   Get the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play.

2. Step 2: Power Up

   Plug in the adapter to power up your camera.

   For setup videos, scan the QR code or visit https://www.tp-link.com/support/setup-video/#cloud-cameras.

   Note: Images may differ from actual products.

3. Step 3: Set Up

   Tap the [Setup] button in the app and select your model. Follow the app instructions to complete setup.

2. Mount Your Camera

Important Note: The camera is not waterproof when set on a table or shelf. Mount the camera using Option 1, 2, or 3 when installing outdoors.

Option 1: Wall Mount

1. Affix the Camera and Bracket

   Route the camera power cord through the opening of the bracket. Use two bracket screws to affix the bracket and the camera.

2. Drill Holes

   Stick the mounting template to the desired mounting place. Drill four screw holes according to the template.

3. Mount the Camera

   Insert four mounting anchors into the holes, then use the mounting screws to affix the camera and bracket over the anchors.

4. Connect to Power

   Connect the camera to a power outlet using the provided power adapter. Install the waterproof seal for the power connectors.

Option 2: Overhang Mount

1. Affix the Camera and Bracket

   Route the camera power cord through the opening of the bracket. Use two bracket screws to affix the bracket and the camera.

Option 3: Pole Mount

1. Affix the Camera and Bracket

   Route the camera power cord through the opening of the bracket. Use two bracket screws to affix the bracket and the camera.

2. Mount the Camera

   Mount the camera on the pole using two pole-mounting loops* (loop width ≤ 12mm).

   *Pole-mounting loops (not included).

3. Connect to Power

   Connect the camera to a power outlet using the provided power adapter. Install the waterproof seal for the power connectors.

Button Explanation

Reset Button

To reset the camera, loosen the screws. While the camera is powered on, use a pin to press and hold the RESET button for at least 5 seconds until the System LED blinks red. The camera will reset and reboot.

microSD Card Slot

Loosen the screws and insert a microSD card* for local recording. Initialize it on the Tapo app.

*microSD card not included.

DC Power Connector

Used to connect to a 12V DC power adapter.

System LED Indication

• This product is not intended for use when providing medical care. Consult the manufacturer of personal medical devices (e.g., pacemakers, hearing aids) to determine if they are adequately shielded from external RF energy.
• Do not use this product in healthcare facilities. Hospitals or healthcare facilities may use equipment sensitive to external RF energy.
• Do not place heavy objects on top of the product.
• When leaving the product unused for a long time, unplug it from the power outlet.
• This product may interfere with other electronic products (e.g., TVs, radios, computers, phones, other wireless devices).
• The adapter should be used indoors where the ambient temperature is 40°C or lower.
• Operating Temperature: -30°C to 60°C (-22°F to 140°F).
