Installation Instructions
Before Using

Installation
Follow these directions to prepare the countertop cutout:
- A – Overhead Cabinets: 13 inches maximum depth.
- B – Countertop Height: 36 inches minimum height of countertop above floor.
- C – Flat Countertop Surface: The minimum flat countertop surface that the cooktop will rest upon must be equal to or greater than the overall cooktop dimensions.
- D – Clearance to Cabinets: 30 inches minimum clearance between the top of the cooking surface and the bottom of an unprotected wood or metal cabinet. This clearance can be reduced to 24 inches if the bottom of the wood or metal cabinet is protected by not less than 1/4-inch thick flame retardant millboard covered with not less than No. 28 MSG sheet steel, 0.015-inch-thick stainless steel, 0.024-inch-thick aluminum, or 0.020-inch-thick copper.
- E – Backsplash Clearance: 1 inch minimum from backsplash of countertop to edge of glass.
NOTE: Do not install closer than 1/2 inch (12 mm) from any adjacent surface.
Ensure there is enough space for cleaning and ventilation.
WARNING: To eliminate the risk of burns by reaching over heated surface units, avoid having cabinet storage space located above surface units.
If cabinet storage is to be provided, the risk can be reduced by installing a range hood that projects horizontally a minimum of 5 inches beyond the bottom of the cabinets.
Overall Cooktop Dimensions (Model PF602SGB)
A diagram illustrates the dimensions for the PF602SGB model. The overall width is 23 5/8" (600mm), overall depth is 13 3/4" (350mm), and overall height is 2 9/16" (65mm). The minimum height clearance is 5 3/16" (132mm). For the cutout, the minimum width is 12 19/32" (320mm) and maximum 13 3/16" (335mm). The cutout width is minimum 22 7/16" (570mm) and maximum 22 7/8" (581mm). There is a minimum 2" (51mm) clearance from the edge of the cutout to the rear edge of the countertop, and a minimum 2 1/2" (64mm) from the edge of the cutout to the front edge of the countertop. Minimum 2" (51mm) clearance is required for combustible materials on both sides. Cabinetry diagrams show typical installation with minimum clearances: minimum 17" (432mm) from the top of the hob to the top of the upper cabinet, minimum 5 3/16" (132mm) from the hob to the bottom of the upper cabinet, and maximum 13" (330mm) depth for upper cabinets. Installing the Cooktop
A diagram shows the cooktop resting on the countertop with mounting brackets underneath. The mounting brackets are secured to the cooktop from underneath with screws.
Four mounting brackets are supplied with the electric cooktop to hold it firmly in place. The cooktop should be bedded to the countertop using a soft bedding compound (e.g., a very small bead of silicone sealant) to prevent damage if later removal for service is necessary.
Position the cooktop in the cutout opening and press firmly on all sides to seal the frame into the bedding compound. Secure the mounting brackets to the cooktop from underneath with the supplied screws.
Installation: Countertop Use
A diagram shows a cooktop with four stand bars screwed into its bottom, allowing it to be placed directly on a countertop. A separate image shows the four stand bar parts.
Four stand bars are included in the packaging. Screw them into the bottom of the unit, and the unit can then be used directly on the countertop.
Installation: Built-in Use
This appliance is not user serviceable. Installation must be completed by a qualified technician.
Warning! For Your Safety: Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance. To eliminate the risk of burns or fire due to overheating, cabinets located above the induction unit should be avoided.
