Safety Warning

1. Always wear protective glasses, shoes, gloves and headgear when handling glass - sharp edges can cause injury.

2. Broken glass is a safety hazard. Clean up immediately - dispose of with care.

3. Any difficulty in fitting glass, contact our customer service department for advice – do not use force.

Site Selection & Tools

Site Selection - Important: Choose a sunny spot for your greenhouse, with as much protection from the wind as possible. In strong winds, close all vents and doors. In the event of heavy snowfall, clear the roof of the building or take suitable measures to support the roof. Observe all building regulations.

Tools Required: Screwdrivers (Normal and Crosshead). 10mm AF spanner or wrench.

Base

Ensure base is square and level. A galvanised steel prefabricated base is available from stockists for all models. For very exposed sites, drill sills and steel base and secure with nuts and bolts.

Should you wish to build a brick or concrete base, follow the dimensions given in section A (page 5). Fix timber battens (29 x 18mm) as shown and drill through sill members in the centre of each bay (leaving adequate room to glaze) and fix using No. 12 x 50mm screws and plugs.

Note: All illustrations are viewed from the inside, except those marked.

Base Fixing Detail (Page 5): Diagram shows a base secured to the ground with bolts (A/B) and timber battens (29 x 18 mm).

Assembly - Step 1: Side

Lay the parts on the ground and bolt loosely together, remembering to slide one bolt into each vertical glazing bar (C) in order to fit the brace. Repeat with the other side.

Diagrams (Page 6): Illustrate the assembly of side panels for models 46, 66, and 86, showing connections between parts like 01781, 01782, 01736, 01737, 01722, 01710, and bolts like 00400. Detail views show specific connection points (A, B, C, D, E) and the use of bolts and nuts.

Assembly - Step 2: Plain Gable End

Lay the parts on the ground and bolt loosely together, remembering to slide one bolt into each vertical glazing bar (C) in order to fit the brace.

Diagrams (Page 7): Show the assembly of the plain gable end for models 46, 66, 86. Illustrates connections of parts like 01701, 01704, 01705, 01721, 01722, 01716, 08613 using bolts. Detail views (F, G, H, I, J, K, L) show specific joint assemblies.

Assembly - Step 3: Door Gable End

Lay out the parts as before and bolt them together loosely in the same order as the plain gable end.

Fix door track support (01712) to gable end bars. From the outside, loosely fix two bolts and nuts to the door track support and slide the door track (08604) onto the heads of the bolts. Using the same two nuts and bolts, fix brackets (08698) to the door track support, ensuring the hook locates into the vertical glazing bars (N). Fix nut and bolt to the hole end of the door track as a door stop (P).

Diagrams (Page 8): Illustrate the door gable end assembly, showing the fitting of door track support (01712), door track (08604), brackets (08698), and door stop (P). Detail views (M, N, O, P) show specific connection points and hardware.

Assembly - Step 4: Main Frame Assembly

Fit triangular end caps to the joint between corner posts and gable end bars (Q). Join the two sides to both gable ends. Fix ridge bar and roof glazing bars, remembering to slide a bolt into a pair of roof bars (U) in order to fit the roof vent (if applicable).

Lift the frame onto the prepared base and secure it lightly. Check the building is square and vertical, then tighten all fixings.

Diagrams (Page 9): Show the overall frame assembly for models 46, 66, 86. Detail views (Q, R, S, T, U, V) illustrate specific joint assemblies for corners, ridge bars, and roof glazing bars, using parts like 01783/01741/01735 and 01711.

Assembly - Step 5: Door

Push door sliders (12224) into the bottom rail at the ends. Assemble the door as shown in the main illustration. Fit both wheels to the wheelhousing (Z) using M4 nuts, bolts, and washers. Fit wheelhousing to the door assembly (AA). Fit weather seals to both vertical door bars and trim to length (BB). Slide door wheels onto the door track, ensuring the bottom slide locates onto the sill (CC). Fit vertical door track support to the gable end bar (DD) and door track (EE). Adjust wheelhousing so the door runs smoothly.

Diagrams (Page 10): Detail views (W, X, Y, Z, AA, BB, CC, DD, EE) illustrate the assembly of the door, including sliders, wheels, wheelhousing, weather seals, and fitting to the track.

Assembly - Step 6: Roof Vent

Use parts 6A or 6B. Bolt both side bars to the roof vent hinge. Fit bolts to the bottom of the side bars. Slide glass into the side bars (GG). Fit the roof vent bottom bar onto the side bars and fix. Check the roof vent frame is square and tighten nuts (HH). Slide the top bar of the roof vent into the ridge bar and slide into the required position. Position the roof vent sill between the roof glazing bars and fix to the previously fitted bolts (JJ) and adjust to suit the vent (KK). Fit the vent stay to the vent bottom bar, using screws (00402). Fit a rubber end cap to the end of the stay (08588). Fit both roof vent stay pegs to the vent sill using screws (00402).

Diagrams (Page 10): Detail views (W, X, Y, Z, AA, BB, CC, DD, EE) also illustrate the assembly of the roof vent, showing its components and how they connect.

Assembly - Step 7: Glazing

Please Note Safety Warning Above.

Fit glazing strips to all glazing bars and trim to length (MM). Starting at the ridge, glaze the roof using glazing clips (00453) and Z clips (00458) between panes as shown in the glazing plan (Page 13). Glaze the rest of the building starting from the bottom. If you have difficulty inserting the final panes, check that the upper panes have not slipped down.
