Warning

A dry powder fire extinguisher, a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher, and a fire blanket must be equipped next to the equipment. Someone must be on duty during operation. In case of a fire accident, a dry powder fire extinguisher can be used when the fire is large, and a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher can be used when the fire is small.

10. Advanced Interface

Press and hold "MENU" for 3s to enter the advanced interface. Press "MENU" to switch interfaces, and press and hold "MENU" for 3s to return to the main interface.

DMX CONTROL

The uFlamer Gasboom supports 3 different channel modes: 2CH-P, 2CH-N, and 6CH.

2CH-P Mode

In this channel mode, the uFlamer Gasboom occupies 1 functional channel (CH-F) and 1 separate safety channel (CH-S). The safety channel is independent from the operational channel and can be shared with other machines.

Note: The above settings use the default safety level (102-153) as an example. For other safety level value settings, please refer to the advanced interface.

2CH-N Mode

In this channel mode, the uFlamer Gasboom occupies 2 functional channels.

6CH Mode

In this channel mode, the uFlamer Gasboom occupies 6 functional channels. This mode is designed to control the uFlamer together with CIRCLE FLAMER on a Host Controller.

Operation

1. Safety Explanation

1.1 Safety Icon

Please read the safety explanation carefully before operating the uFlamer Gasboom.

1.2 Device Label

1.3 E-Stop Interface

The E-Stop interface is a power cut-off interface. The device can be powered on normally only after the interface is connected.

E-Stopper (optional, FPEST001):

NOTICE: E-Stopper can connect up to 24 units of uFlamer Gasboom in series maximum.

NOTICE: For more information about the E-Stopper, please check the E-Stopper manual.

1.4 Safety Distance

The uFlamer Gasboom safety isolation zone is a cylindrical three-dimensional space with a safety radius around the machine (a) and a safety distance in the firing direction (b). For the safety distance in the firing direction, it equals the maximum firing height + 2m.

No person and flammable materials are allowed to stay inside the safety isolation zone when the flamer is armed. Unauthorized persons and objects are strictly prohibited from entering.

The safety distance 'a' and 'b' are related to nozzle size, environment temperature, and firing duration. The following table provides effect height and safety distance based on tests with two 450g gas cartridges and a firing duration of 0.2s. If necessary, expand the safety distance according to the actual situation.

WARNING: Forbidden to use Nozzle GA with gas cartridge when temperature is lower than 10°C.

CAUTION: For angled installation, the safety distance both around the machine and in the firing direction should shift accordingly.

2. Battery for uFlamer Gasboom

The uFlamer Gasboom can be powered by 4 pcs of 18650 cells. New Gasbooms come with a battery compartment; customers need to purchase 18650 cells locally. The battery installation steps are as follows:

NOTICE: To avoid battery damage, charge the battery at least once per month.

NOTICE: 18650 battery activation is necessary whenever installing the battery.

NOTICE: SFT mode is disabled when running on battery power.

3. Install Gas Cartridges for Gasboom

Diagrams: Show the cartridge holder connection and removal process.

If using a cassette gas cylinder: An adaptor (RMMET467) is required, as shown in the diagram.

If use gas bottle

Disassemble the cartridge holder if using a gas bottle to supply gas for the Gasboom. A hose will be needed to connect between the gas bottle and the Gasboom.

NOTE:

  1. Please choose an appropriate gas bottle according to your use.
  2. Please prepare the pressure regulator yourself. Pressure regulators for liquefied gas and gaseous gas are different; please select the appropriate pressure regulator. The pressure regulator output pressure range is 0-5Bar. Send the thread size of the output end of the pressure regulator (Thread 1) to SHOWVEN before ordering the hose, so they can supply a compatible hose with the correct thread 2 size.
  3. The hose is an optional part (SFMET1136); the standard hose length is 5m, but other lengths are customizable.

WARNING: Do not misuse the pressure regulator between liquefied gas and gaseous gas.

WARNING: When using a gas bottle, it is mandatory to use a pressure regulator, and the maximum output pressure must not be higher than 5.0 bar. The usage of gas bottles without a pressure regulator is an extreme accident hazard and is strictly prohibited.

4. Install uFlamer Gasboom

NOTICE: For angled installation with angles >45°, please turn off the TIP sensor.

5. Connecting uFlamer Gasboom

Make sure the DMX or pyro controller is disarmed or powered off during cable connection.

If control by DMX controller, follow these steps:

6. Power ON the DMX console/Pyro controller and programming

Power on the DMX console and program the uFlamer Gasboom effects on the DMX console.

7. Test the ignition function of uFlamer Gasboom

Test the ignition function of the uFlamer. This allows checking if the igniters of each unit are working correctly. Due to the safety switch being in TEST MODE, there will only be ignition while the jet solenoid valve is not open, so no flames will be generated.

Nozzles and Nozzle Replacement

1. Nozzles

There are four types of nozzles for the uFlamer Gasboom: G16, G20 (standard configuration), G25, and GA. Related firing height and safety distance information can be found in previous sections of this manual.

WARNING: Forbid to operate the uFlamer Gasboom without a nozzle; it will cause accidental flame.

WARNING: According to the site environment and condition, please choose the appropriate type of nozzle.

DANGER: Do NOT use parts or components that are not originally from SHOWVEN.

NOTICE: When the device is placed or transported without packaging, please use adhesive tape to cover the nozzle to prevent foreign matter from entering.

2. Fuel Consumption

The following testing results are based on two 450g gas cartridges, as shown in the picture, with a firing duration of 0.2s and an environment temperature of 30°C.

3. Nozzle Replacement

Use a 19mm outer hexagon socket wrench (RMHDT120) to disassemble the nozzle. Clean the nozzle and nozzle socket with an air gun (air compressor), change to a different nozzle, and install it.

WARNING: Do unplug the power cable when servicing the flamer.

Igniter Position Adjustment

Whenever the nozzle is changed or ignition is poor, please check the igniter pole position according to the parameters below. The right position for each pair of poles should have a gap from tip to tip of 3.5±0.5mm and a gap between the two igniters of 52±1mm. Check the ignition success rate after adjustment by firing.

Maintenance

  1. To maintain the machine in good performance and running status, it is recommended to run the device at least once per month.
  2. Check the ignition probes both before and after each show. If there are any foreign objects on them, please clean them up.
  3. Shut-off valve maintenance: Make sure there are no impurities in the gas cartridge and cartridge holder connection part. If the machine is not used for a long time, it is recommended to use tape to seal this part and store it.
  4. Nozzle maintenance: Nozzles need to be cleaned from time to time, and it is recommended to clean them once every six months (depending on the environment and frequency of use). If the flame shape becomes seriously deformed or the fuel injection line becomes significantly deformed or coarsened during use, the nozzle should be removed immediately for cleaning. If problems persist after cleaning, replace the nozzle.
  5. O-ring maintenance: If an O-ring on the nozzle is found to be damaged or aged during nozzle cleaning, it should be replaced promptly. (Material and size of O-ring: fluorine rubber O-ring, outermost diameter is 14 mm, and the line diameter is 2 mm).

  1. Flame detector maintenance: It is recommended to clean carbon buildup on the flame detector at least once per month (depending on the use environment and frequency). If the detector is found to be insensitive, clean it immediately.
