Bose L1 Pro Family Firmware Update

Overview

These instructions guide you through updating the firmware for your Bose L1 Pro8, L1 Pro16, L1 Pro32, Sub1, or Sub2 audio systems.

A USB-C cable is required for this process (not included with your product). Please note that the L1 Pro family of products is not compatible with Thunderbolt 3 cables.

Update Steps

  1. Open a web browser on your computer and navigate to btu.bose.com.

    Compatibility Note: This website is not compatible with Internet Explorer or Safari.

  2. Click the "Download" button to download the Bose Updater application.

    Supported Web Browsers:

    • Windows: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge
    • Mac: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox

  3. Review the End-User License Agreement and click "I Agree" to proceed.

  4. Install the Bose Updater application.

    How the Bose Updater Works:

    • Run the Bose Updater installer. Once successfully installed, the application icon will appear in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac).
    • Launch the Bose Updater app.
    • You will need a USB cable or drive to connect your product.
    • The Bose Updater will inform you if any updates are available for your product.

    If the page does not update after launching the Bose Updater from your desktop, click here.

  5. Once the installation is complete, open the Bose Updater application.

  6. Connect your Bose product to a power source.

  7. Connect your product to your computer using a USB-C cable. The Updater will automatically detect your product.

  8. If your product requires a software update, the screen will display: "There's an update available for your product!"

    Important: This process may take a few minutes. Ensure you remain connected to the internet and do not close the browser or the Bose Updater application.

    IF YOUR PRODUCT IS NOT UPDATING, CONTACT US

  9. Click the "Update Now" button. Important: Do not unplug or power off your product while the update is in progress.

    Important: This process may take a few minutes. Ensure you remain connected to the internet and do not close the browser or the Bose Updater application.

    IF YOUR PRODUCT IS NOT UPDATING, CONTACT US

  10. Upon successful completion of the update, the screen will display: "Your product is now up-to-date!"

    You're all set!

    To update another product, connect it to your computer. If you are finished, you can safely disconnect your product and quit the application.
