Important Safety Precautions
CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN
To prevent electric shock, do not remove the grounding plug on the power cord, or use any plug or extension cord that does not have a grounding plug provided. Make certain that the AC outlet is properly grounded. Do not use an adapter plug with this product.
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol [⚡] within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle [❗] is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.
General Safety Guidelines:
- 1. Read Instructions: All safety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated.
- 2. Retain Instructions: Keep safety and operating instructions for future reference.
- 3. Heed Warnings: Adhere to all warnings on the product and in the operating instructions.
- 4. Follow Instructions: Follow all operating and use instructions.
- 5. Water and Moisture: Do not use near water (e.g., bathtub, sink, laundry tub, wet basement, swimming pool).
- 6. Accessories: Do not place on unstable carts, stands, tripods, brackets, or tables. Use only manufacturer-recommended accessories. Follow mounting instructions.
- 7. Wall or Ceiling Mounting: Mount only as recommended by the manufacturer.
- 8. Ventilation: Do not block slots or openings provided for ventilation. Ensure proper ventilation in built-in installations.
- 9. Heat: Position away from heat sources (radiators, stoves).
- 10. Power Sources: Operate only from the indicated power source type. Consult dealer or power company if unsure.
- 11. Grounding or Polarization: Do not defeat the safety purpose of polarized plugs. If a plug does not fit, contact an electrician.
- 12. Power-Cord Protection: Route cords to prevent walking on or pinching.
- 13. Cleaning: Unplug before cleaning. Use a damp cloth; avoid liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- 14. Nonuse Periods: Unplug when left unused for long periods.
- 15. Lightning: Unplug during lightning storms or when unattended for long periods to prevent damage from surges.
- 16. Overloading: Avoid overloading outlets or extension cords.
- 17. Object and Liquid Entry: Never insert objects into openings or spill liquids on the product.
- 18. Damage Requiring Service: Unplug and refer to qualified personnel if the cord, plug, enclosure is damaged, liquid is spilled, product is exposed to rain/water, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- 19. Attachments: Use only manufacturer-recommended attachments.
- 20. Replacement Parts: Ensure service technicians use specified or equivalent replacement parts.
- 21. Safety Check: After service, ask technician to perform safety checks.
- 22. Servicing: Do not attempt self-servicing; refer to qualified personnel.

For optimum performance and stereo imaging, slightly angle the speakers toward the listening position.
2. Connections
Media 100 Connection Diagram
This diagram illustrates connecting the Media 100 system. A "Computer Sound Card or Portable CD Player" connects via "Line Out" to the "Primary Speaker" which has "Out to Satellite" and "Out to Sub" outputs. The "Primary Speaker" also has a "DC Input". An optional "Powered Subwoofer" connects via an "Input" to the "Out to Sub" of the Primary Speaker. A "Secondary Speaker" connects via "In from Master" to the "Out to Satellite" of the Primary Speaker.
Media 200 Connection Diagram
Similar to the Media 100, this diagram shows the Media 200 system. A "Computer Sound Card or Portable CD Player" connects via "Line Out" to the "Primary Speaker" which has "Out to Satellite" and "Out to Sub" outputs, and a "DC Input". An optional "Powered Subwoofer" connects via an "Input" to the "Out to Sub" of the Primary Speaker. A "Secondary Speaker" connects via "In from Master" to the "Out to Satellite" of the Primary Speaker.
3. Operation
Media 200 Controls
- Volume: To raise volume, rotate the volume knob clockwise. To lower volume, rotate counterclockwise.
- Bass: To raise bass level, rotate the bass knob clockwise. To lower bass level, rotate counterclockwise.
- Treble: To raise treble level, rotate the treble knob clockwise. To lower treble level, rotate counterclockwise.
Media 100 Controls
- Volume: To raise volume, rotate the volume knob clockwise. To lower volume, rotate counterclockwise.
- Tone: Turning the tone control clockwise slightly increases bass sounds while slightly decreasing high-frequency sounds. Turning counterclockwise slightly increases high-frequency sounds while slightly decreasing bass sounds.
Auto Turn-On/Turn-Off
Media 100 and Media 200 feature automatic turn-on/turn-off. They will turn off when the source equipment (computer or CD player) has no sound output for approximately fifteen minutes and immediately turn back on when a signal is present.
