Download SmartThings
To begin using SmartThings, you first need to download the application.
You can find the app on major mobile application stores:
- Get it on Google Play (for Android devices)
- Download on the App Store (for iOS devices)
Compatibility Notes:
- The Samsung SmartThings app requires Android 6.0 or higher, or iOS 10.0 or higher.
- The app is optimized for Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series.
- Please be aware that some unauthorized Wi-Fi wireless routers may not connect to applicable Samsung smart devices.
- The following descriptions and instructions are based on Android phone screens.
Before You Begin: Initial Setup Steps
Please ensure you have completed the following essential steps before proceeding. Once these are ready, you can start using SmartThings.
Step 1: Check Wi-Fi Connectivity
Verify that your Wi-Fi network is functioning correctly. The SmartThings service requires an active Wi-Fi connection to operate.

Step 2: Sign In to Your Samsung Account
Log in to your Samsung account. This account is used to link your services and devices within the SmartThings ecosystem.

Step 3: Check Device Compatibility
Confirm that your devices, such as your TV and other home appliances, are compatible with SmartThings. You can check compatibility by navigating to the 'SUPPORTED DEVICES' section within the app.
