How it Works
The Vicks FilterFree Plus Cool Mist Humidifier is designed to quietly provide visible cool mist. This filter free humidifier has a built-in nebulizer that quietly vibrates the water at ultrasonic frequency to break the water droplets into a fine, cool mist that you can see and feel. Protec® Demineralization Cartridge
This humidifier works with a Demineralization Cartridge that helps remove minerals from the water. This helps prevent the build up of minerals ("white dust") that can occur in hard water areas. If you live in a hard water area, we recommend the use of this demineralization cartridge if not using distilled water.

Filling/Refilling
NOTE: Tank should be carried using two hands, in the carry handle located on Tank Top and the other hand supporting the base of the Tank. Manufacturer and Distributor will not accept responsibility for property damage caused by water spillage.

Operating Humidifier

1. Plug the humidifier in. Power on by pressing the power icon. The
unit will default to high output, continuous humidity setting. Press
again to turn off. The humidifier has a memory function and will
revert to the last setting each time you power on. CAUTION:

to default settings.
2. Output: Press the up and down arrows
to toggle between
the low and high mist level settings. A higher setting will deliver
mist into the room at a higher rate. The water level in the Water
Tank will decrease faster on a higher setting, since more moisture is going into the air. A lower setting will
provide less moisture output and run longer before the Water Tank needs to be refilled.
3. Position humidifier to direct mist output away from walls, furniture and bedding.
4. Humidity Level: When a comfortable humidity level is reached, lower the output setting. A comfortable humidity
level is between 40-60%.
To monitor your humidity level, use a humidity monitor such as the Vicks V70 or V70-CAN model. (Not included)
If you notice condensation on the walls, windows or around unit, your humidity level is too high. Turn humidifier off.
NOTE: IF THE POWER ICON CHANGES TO AN AMBER COLOR, THE TANK IS EMPTY. TURN THE POWER OFF, REFILL AND REPLACE THE TANK AND TURN THE POWER BACK ON TO CONTINUE TO USE THE HUMIDIFIER.

Your humidifier can be used with Vicks VapoPads to provide up to 8 hours of soothing vapors. One free sample of the menthol VapoPad is included with your humidifier. To use your unit with Vicks VapoPads:
1. Open VapoPad Door. 2. Open VapoPad by tearing notch on pad bag. DO NOT touch pad with hands. If pad is touched
DO NOT rub face or eyes as it may cause irritation.
3. Insert Vicks VapoPad with angled end facing towards the product. Up to two VapoPads can
be inserted. Close door.
4. After 8 hours, discard scent pad. To remove the scent pad(s) open the VapoPad Door by
pressing the button on the left side of the Scent Pad area and the VapoPad will eject slightly to be removed.
To continue using scent pads, repeat steps 1-4.
VapoPad Recommended Usage:
· Not recommended for infants under 10 lbs (4.5 kg). · For children between 10-22 lbs (4.5-10 kg) do not use more than 2 pads in a 24 hr period. Sample VapoPad ingredients: Eucalyptus Oil, Menthol, Glycol, Cedar Leaf Oil & Others. NOTE: ALWAYS reference VapoPad packaging for recommended usage instructions and warnings.
Water Quality and Your Humidifier
High mineral content in your water, also known as "hard water" may cause a white mineral residue to accumulate on surfaces in the room near the humidifier. This mineral residue is commonly referred to as "White Dust." The higher the mineral content or hardness of your water, the greater the potential that you may have white dust. "White Dust" is not a result of a defect or flaw in the humidifier. It is a result of the amount of minerals suspended in the water you are using. If you live in a hard water area, the use of distilled water will minimize the production of white dust.
The use of a Protec® Demineralization cartridge (PDC51V2/ PDC51CV2 Series) will help reduce white dust. For best results replace as necessary (every 2-4 weeks, or 15-30 fillings under normal use) or when the humidifier has not been run for an extended period of time.

Weekly Cleaning
It is recommended that you empty the Water Tank and Reservoir when Step 1 the unit is not in use and let them air dry. To keep your humidifier running efficiently, clean it regularly. Weekly cleaning is recommended. To properly clean your humidifier we recommend the separate
processes of Scale Removal and Disinfecting shown below. These two
processes must be performed separately.
CAUTION: BEFORE MOVING HUMIDIFIER BASE, TURN OFF,

UNPLUG AND EMPTY THE TANK. All maintenance should be done
in the kitchen or bathroom on a water resistant surface near a faucet.
DO NOT wash any components of this humidifier in the dishwasher.
Instructions for Scale Removal
1. Turn off and unplug the humidifier. Remove any accessories in

2. Remove Water Tank from Base. Remove Tank Cap, taking care that
the rubber Cap Seal does not come off. Empty water from Water
Tank and Base.
3. Add 2 cups of undiluted, distilled white vinegar to Water Tank.
Step 4
Replace Tank Cap and swish vinegar solution around in Tank.
Place Tank on Base. Vinegar solution will drain into Water
Reservoir and loosen mineral buildup (scale) on Nebulizer and
Float as they soak in the solution. It will also loosen scale
on bottom of Water Tank. DO NOT run humidifier with
vinegar solution.
4. Allow the vinegar to remain in Tank and on Base for 15-20 minutes.

5. After soaking, unlock Tank Cap and pour solution out in sink.
Pour solution from Water Reservoir out in sink. Wipe Nebulizer
and Float with soft cloth to remove loosened mineral deposits.
6. Rinse Water Reservoir and Water Tank until smell of vinegar is gone.
Avoid getting water into any openings on the humidifier base.

Follow Steps 1-3 in Scale Removal Instructions in previous section.
NOTE: Bleach may stain clothes. It is recommended that you wear rubber gloves during this process to protect your hands.
1. Add 1 tsp. of bleach to 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water and
add to Water Tank. Replace Tank Cap. Swish solution around in Tank. Place Tank on Base. Bleach solution will drain into Water Reservoir and will disinfect Water Reservoir.

NOTE: Using more than 1 tsp. of bleach per gallon of water may result in damage to your humidifier.

Base for 15-20 minutes.

To clean the scent pad area, gently wipe out scent pad heater area with a soft damp cloth. DO NOT USE VINEGAR OR BLEACH SOLUTION TO CLEAN THIS AREA.

End-of-Season Care and Storage
Follow the CLEANING instructions when the humidifier will not be used for at least one week, or it is the end of the season. At the end of the season, remove any accessories used with the humidifier and allow the humidifier and accesories to dry completely before storing.
DO NOT store with water inside the Base, Water Reservoir or Tank.
Pack unit safely and store in a cool, dry location.

If your humidifier is not working properly, refer to the following:

Cartucho de Desmineralización Protec®

1. Conecte el humidificador. Encienda presionando el Icono de
Encendido. La unidad se ajustará por defecto a salida alta y humedad
continua. Vuelva a presionar para apagar. El humidificador tiene una
función de memoria y volverá a la última configuración cada vez que se encienda. PRECAUCIÓN: PARA EVITAR DESCARGA

ELÉCTRICA, NO CONECTE EL HUMIDIFICADOR CON LAS
MANOS MOJADAS. Al desconectar el humidificador se restablece la
configuración predeterminada.
2. Salida: Presione la fechas arriba y abajo
para alternar entre
los ajustes de nivel de vapor bajo y alto. Un ajuste más alto entregará vapor en la habitación a un ritmo más alto. El
nivel de agua en el Tanque de Agua disminuirá más rápido en un ajuste más alto, ya que más humedad está entrando
en el aire. Un ajuste más bajo proporcionará menos salida de humedad y funcionará más tiempo antes de que el
Tanque de agua necesite ser rellenado.
3. Coloque el humidificador para direccionar la salida de vapor lejos de las paredes, muebles y ropa de cama.
4. Nivel de Humedad: Una vez alcanzado un nivel de humedad cómodo, baje el ajuste de salida. Un nivel de
humedad cómodo es entre el 40-60%.
Para controlar el nivel de humedad use un monitor de humedad como el modelo V70 o V70-CAN Vicks. (No incluido)
Si observa condensación en las paredes, ventanas o alrededor de la unidad, su nivel de humedad es muy alto. Apague el humidificador.
NOTA: SI EL ICONO DE ENCENDIDO CAMBIA A UN COLOR ÁMBAR, EL TANQUE ESTÁ VACÍO. APAGUE, RELLENE, Y VUELVA A COLOCAR EL TANQUE Y ENCIENDA NUEVAMENTE PARA SEGUIR UTILIZANDO EL HUMIDIFICADOR.

Su humidificador se puede utilizar con VapoPads Vicks para proporcionar hasta 8 horas de vapores relajantes. Una muestra gratuita del VapoPad de mentol se incluye con su humidificador. Para utilizar con su unidad con VapoPads Vicks:
1. Abra la Puerta de la VapoPad. 2. Abra la VapoPad rasgando la muesca de la bolsa de la almohadilla. NO toque la almohadilla
con las manos. Si toca la almohadilla, NO frote la cara o los ojos ya que puede causar irritación.
3. Inserte la VapoPad de Vicks con el extremo angulado hacia el producto. Pueden insertarse
hasta dos VapoPads. Cierre la puerta.
4. Después de 8 horas deseche la almohadilla aromática. Para retirar las almohadillas aromáticas,
abra la Puerta del VapoPad presionando el botón en el lado izquierdo del área de la Almohadilla Aromática y el VapoPad se explusará ligeramente para ser retirado.
Para continuar usando almohadillas aromáticas, repita los pasos 1-4.
Uso Recomendado de VapoPad:
· No se recomienda para niños menores de 4.5 kg (10 lb).
· Para niños de entre 4.5-10 kg (10-22 lb) no use más de 2 almohadillas en un período de 24 horas. Ingredientes de VapoPad de muestra: Aceite de Eucalipto, Mentol, Glicol, Aceite de Hoja de Cedro y Otros. NOTA: SIEMPRE consulte la caja de la VapoPad para obtener instrucciones de uso y advertencias recomendados.
Calidad del Agua y Su Humidificador
El alto contenido de minerales en su agua, también conocido como "agua dura" puede provocar acumulación de un residuo mineral blanco en las superficies de la habitación cerca del humidificador. Este residuo mineral es comúnmente llamado "Polvo Blanco". Cuanto mayor sea el contenido mineral o la dureza del agua, mayores son las probabilidades que usted pueda tener polvo blanco. El "Polvo Blanco" no es el resultado de un defecto o imperfección en el humidificador. Es el resultado de la cantidad de minerales suspendidos en el agua que utiliza. Si vive en una zona de agua dura el uso de agua destilada minimizará la producción de polvo blanco.
El uso de un cartucho de Desmineralización Protec® (Series PDC51V2/PDC51CV2) ayudará a reducir el polvo blanco. Para obtener mejores resultados reemplace según sea necesario (cada 2-4 semanas, o 15-30 llenadas bajo uso normal) o cuando el humidificador no se ha operado durante períodos prolongados de tiempo.

Limpieza Semanal
Se recomienda vaciar el Tanque de Agua y el Depósito cuando la

unidad no esté en uso y dejar que se sequen al aire. Para mantener el
humidificador operando de manera eficiente, límpielo regularmente.
Se recomienda limpieza semanal. Para limpiar adecuadamente su
humidificador le recomendamos los procesos de Eliminación del Sarro
y Desinfección mostrados a continuación. Estos dos procesos deben
ser realizados por separado.
Paso 2
PRECAUCIÓN: ANTES DE MOVER LA BASE DEL HUMIDIFICADOR,
APAGUE, DESCONECTE Y VACÍE EL TANQUE. Todo el mantenimiento
debe hacerse en la cocina o el baño, sobre una superficie resistente al agua
cerca de un grifo. NO lave ningún componente de este humidificador en el
lavavajillas.
Paso 3
Instrucciones para Eliminación del Sarro

1. Apague y desconecte el humidificador. Retire cualquier accesorio en
el tanque.
2. Retire el Tanque de Agua de la Base. Retire la Tapa del Tanque,
teniendo cuidado de que no se desprenda el Empaque de goma de la Tapa. Vacíe el agua del Tanque de Agua y la Base.

3. Agregue 2 tazas de vinagre blanco sin diluir al Tanque de Agua.
Vuelva a colocar la Tapa del Tanque y agite la solución de vinagre alrededor del Tanque. Coloque el Tanque en la Base. La solución de vinagre se drenará al Depósito de Agua y suavizará la acumulación de minerales (escala) en el Nebulizador y el Flotador al remojarse en la solución. También suavizará el sarro en la parte inferior del Tanque de Agua. NO opere el humidificador con la solución de vinagre.

4. Permita que el vinagre permanezca en el Tanque y en la Base
durante 15-20 minutos.
5. Después de remojar, abra la Tapa del Tanque y vierta la solución Paso 6
en el fregadero. Vierta la solución del Depósito de Agua en el fregadero. Limpie el Nebulizador y el Flotador con un paño suave para remover los depósitos minerales suavizados.
6. Enjuague el Depósito y el Tanque de Agua hasta que desaparezca el
olor a vinagre. Evite que entre agua en cualquiera de las aberturas en la base del humidificador.
PRECAUCIÓN: NO sumerja la base en agua. Hacerlo dañará el humidificador y anulará la garantía.

Instrucciones para Desinfección
Siga los Pasos 1-3 en las Instrucciones de Eliminación de Sarro en la sección anterior.
NOTA: El cloro puede manchar la ropa. Se recomienda usar guantes de goma durante este proceso
para proteger sus manos.

Cuidado y Almacenaje Fuera de Temporada
Siga las instrucciones de LIMPIEZA cuando el humidificador no esté en uso por al menos una semana, o al final de la temporada. Al final de la temporada, retire todos los accesorios usados con el humidificador y permita que sequen completamente antes de almacenar. NO almacene con agua dentro de la Base, Depósito de Agua o Tanque. Empaque la unidad de manera segura y guárdela en un lugar fresco y seco.
