General Safety Rules:
- In addition to this manual and the accident prevention regulations in your country, the safety and responsible use provisions must also be observed.
- READ AND OBSERVE ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
Intended Use:
- The device is suitable for industrial use in factories, on construction sites, and in workshops. It is also suitable for commercial use, e.g., in hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices, or rental businesses. Accidents due to misuse can only be prevented by the users.
- The device is suitable for picking up dry, non-flammable substances. Any other use is considered misuse. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damages resulting from such use. The risk for such use lies solely with the user. Proper use includes correct operation and regular maintenance and repair according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- For devices with dust class L (with type designation LC): The device is suitable for picking up dry, non-flammable substances with an OEL1) value > 1 mg/m³. Dust class L (IEC 60335-2-69). This dust class includes dusts with OEL1) values > 1 mg/m³. For devices intended for dust class L, the filter material has been tested. The maximum transmission rate is 1%, no special disposal requirements apply. Please observe the regulations valid in your country before commissioning.
WARNING:
- This device is only suitable for dry operation.
- Do not vacuum flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline. Do not use in areas where such liquids may be present.
- To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, please read and follow all safety instructions and labels before use. This vacuum cleaner is designed to be safe when used for the specified cleaning functions.
- If electrical or mechanical parts are damaged, the vacuum cleaner or accessories must be repaired by a competent service workshop or the manufacturer before the device is used again, to avoid further damage to the device and injury to users.
- Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces to reduce the risk of electric shock.
- This device is only suitable for indoor operation.
- This device may only be stored in closed rooms.
- Do not leave the device unattended when plugged in. Unplug the power cord when not in use and before maintenance.
- Do not use the device if the supply cable or plug is damaged. To pull the plug out of the socket, pull by the plug, not by the cable. Do not touch the plug or the device with wet hands. Turn off the vacuum cleaner before unplugging.
- Do not drag the device by the cable or carry it by the cable. Do not use the cable as a handle. Ensure the cable is not pinched or pulled around sharp corners or edges. Do not drive over the cable with the vacuum cleaner. Ensure the cable does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, and body parts away from openings or moving parts of the device. Do not use the device if any opening is blocked and do not insert objects into the openings. Keep openings clear of dust, lint, hair, and other material that could obstruct airflow.
- For standard devices (without type designation LC): The device is not suitable for picking up hazardous dust.
- Never vacuum smoking or burning objects (e.g., cigarettes, matches, hot ash).
- Use of this device by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or with insufficient experience and knowledge, is not permitted.
- Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the device.
- Cleaning and maintenance may only be carried out by children under trained supervision.
- Be particularly careful when cleaning on stairs.
- Only use when filters are installed.
- If the device is not functioning properly, has been dropped or damaged, has been outdoors, or has fallen into water, it must be taken to a service workshop or dealer.
- Operating personnel must be thoroughly instructed in the operation of these devices.
CAUTION:
- Only use as described in this manual and only with accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
- BEFORE CONNECTING THE VACUUM CLEANER, check that the voltage indicated on the type plate matches the available mains voltage (max. ± 10% deviation allowed).
- This device features double insulation. Use only identical spare parts. For double-insulated devices, there is no provision for earthing, and such a provision must not be fitted to the device. Maintenance of a double-insulated device requires the utmost care and knowledge of the device. Spare parts for double-insulated devices must be identical to the parts they replace. A double-insulated device is marked with the words 'DOUBLE INSULATION' or 'DOUBLE INSULATED', or by a symbol (a square within a square).
- This device has a specially constructed supply cable. If it is damaged, it must be replaced with a cable of the same type. This is available from authorized service workshops and dealers and must be installed by trained technicians.
WARNING:
- The device must not be used if the condition of the power supply cord is not perfect. The power supply cord must be regularly inspected for signs of damage or aging. The power supply cord may only be replaced by a trained person.
- Do not touch electrical cables or plugs with wet hands.
- Do not pull the plug out of the socket by the cable; pull by the plug. After use, and before cleaning or maintenance, unplug the device from the socket.
Hazardous Substances:
Vacuuming hazardous substances can lead to severe or even fatal injuries.
The following substances must not be vacuumed with this device:
- Hot materials (burning cigarettes, glowing ash, etc.)
- Flammable, explosive, or aggressive liquids (e.g., gasoline, solvents, acids, bases, etc.)
- Flammable, explosive dust (e.g., magnesium or aluminum dust, etc.)
For standard devices (without type designation LC), the following also applies: The following substances must not be vacuumed with this device:
- Hazardous dust.
Maintenance:
- The vacuum cleaner must be stored dry. It is almost maintenance-free. Only the dust filter needs to be replaced occasionally – depending on usage time.
- The surface of the vacuum cleaner is cleaned with a dry cloth, possibly with a mild plastic cleaner.
- For devices with dust class L (with type designation LC): During maintenance and cleaning of the vacuum cleaner, ensure that no hazards arise for maintenance personnel and other persons.
- In the maintenance area: Ensure forced ventilation with filter. Wear protective clothing. Clean the maintenance area so that no hazardous substances escape into the environment.
Regular Maintenance and Inspection:
- Regular maintenance and inspection of the device must be carried out by appropriately qualified persons, observing the relevant regulations. In particular, protective conductors, insulation resistance, and the condition of the supply cable must be checked regularly.
- If damaged, the device MUST be taken out of service and fully checked and repaired by an authorized service technician.
- At least once a year, a Nilfisk technician or an instructed person must carry out a technical inspection, including checking filters, light-tightness, and control mechanisms.
- For devices with dust class L (with type designations -0L, -2L): During maintenance and cleaning of the vacuum cleaner, ensure that no hazards arise for maintenance personnel and other persons.
- In the maintenance area: Ensure forced ventilation with filter. Wear protective clothing. Clean the maintenance area so that no hazardous substances escape into the environment.
During maintenance and repairs, all contaminated parts that could not be sufficiently cleaned must be:
- Packaged in well-sealed bags.
- Disposed of according to applicable regulations for such substances.
Product Liability:
- Nilfisk's general terms and conditions apply to warranty and guarantee.
- Unauthorized modifications to the device, the use of incorrect accessories, and non-intended use exclude the manufacturer's liability for resulting damages.
- The symbol of the crossed-out waste bin indicates that used electrical and electronic equipment marked with this symbol must not be disposed of with unsorted household waste. To avoid negative effects on human health and the environment, such devices must be handed in separately at designated collection points. Users of electrical and electronic household appliances must use the municipal collection systems. Please note that commercially used electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of via municipal collection systems. We are happy to inform you about suitable disposal options.
