Model: TL-PA7017 KIT
This guide demonstrates the setup process for the TP-Link TL-PA7017 KIT. The European version (TL-PA7017 KIT) is used for demonstration; actual products may differ.
Follow these steps to set up your powerline network:
Step 1: Connect the first TP-Link TL-PA7017 adapter to your router via an Ethernet cable and plug it into a wall outlet. Ensure it's on the same electrical circuit as the other adapter.
Diagram Description: A router is connected via an Ethernet cable to the first TL-PA7017 adapter, which is plugged into a wall outlet labeled 'Internet'.
Step 2: Plug the second TL-PA7017 adapter into another wall outlet on the same electrical circuit. Connect your device (e.g., a computer) to this adapter via an Ethernet cable.
Diagram Description: The second TL-PA7017 adapter is plugged into a wall outlet, and a laptop is connected to it via an Ethernet cable.
Step 3: Wait until the Powerline LED on the adapter turns on. If the LED is off, refer to FAQ-Q2.
Visual Indicator: Powerline LED solid on.
Step 4: Enjoy your new powerline network connection.
Visual Indicator: Text '4 Enjoy!'
Attention: Always plug powerline devices directly into wall outlets, not into power strips.
Diagram Description: A visual comparison showing a powerline device plugged into a 'Wall Outlet' (correct) versus a 'Power Strip' (incorrect).
Adding More Devices: To extend your network, simply plug additional TP-Link powerline adapters or extenders into wall sockets on the same electrical circuit.
You can create or join a secure powerline network by pairing two devices at a time. It is recommended to plug the powerline devices near each other when pairing.
Diagram Description: Shows two adapters. First adapter's Pair button pressed, Power LED blinking. Within 2 minutes, second adapter's Pair button pressed, Power LED blinking. Finally, both adapters show solid Powerline LEDs.
Diagram Description: Shows an existing powerline device with its Pair button pressed (Power LED blinking). Within 2 minutes, a new powerline device's Pair button is pressed (Power LED blinking). Finally, the new adapter shows a solid Powerline LED.
