Safety Precautions
Incorrect or inappropriate use of this product can lead to personal injury and potential damage to property. Please read this instruction booklet thoroughly before fitting or using this appliance.
- The cooker hood must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions and all measurements followed.
- All installation work must be carried out by a competent person or qualified electrician.
- The unit must be connected to an earthed power supply.
- If venting externally, ensure ducting has no bends sharper than 90 degrees to maintain efficiency.
- The cooker hood is for domestic use only and intended solely for extracting vapours and cooking odours.
- Do not flambé or use an open flame under the cooker hood.
- Do not use the cooker hood without grease filters or if filters are excessively greasy. Clean or replace them as necessary.
- Ensure the extraction fan is level to prevent grease collection, which could pose a fire risk.
- Do not leave frying pans unattended during use due to the risk of overheating fat or oils catching fire.
- If the cooker hood is damaged, do not attempt to use it.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction on safe use and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children without supervision.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance; it is not a toy.
- The plug must be accessible after installation for isolation in case of an emergency, or an appropriate fused switch if the unit is hard-wired to the mains via a spur.
- The minimum distance between the hob surface and the lowest part of the hood should be at least 65cm; 65cm to 75cm provides peak efficiency.
- Air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from gas or other fuel appliances.
- When venting externally and used with fuel-burning appliances (e.g., gas, oil, wood), the area must be sufficiently ventilated to ensure safe operation. Fresh air must be allowed to enter the room to prevent a partial vacuum.
- A partial vacuum can starve heating appliances of oxygen, impairing combustion, and can prevent toxic fumes from leaving the room or cause fumes to be sucked into the room from outside.
- Safe operation requires the partial vacuum within the working area not to exceed 4 Pa (0.04 mbar). This can be achieved by ensuring air can enter the room from outside through a suitable opening that cannot be sealed during operation. Consult a professional if unsure.
- Regulations concerning air discharge must be fulfilled.
- There is a potential fire risk if cleaning is not carried out according to instructions.
- Clean the appliance periodically as described in the MAINTENANCE chapter.
- In recirculation mode, charcoal filters trap odours and must be replaced at least once a year, depending on usage frequency.
- For safety, use only the recommended fixing or mounting screws as specified in this manual.
- Warning: Failure to install screws or fixing devices according to these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
CAUTION: Accessible parts of the hood can become very hot during use with cooking appliances, whether in use or not, due to heat rising from the hob. Allow sufficient time for the unit to cool before touching the housing or grease filters.
Installation (Vent Outside) - Mounting of the V-Flap
If the cooker hood does not have an assembled V-flap, you should mount the half-parts to its body. The images show an example; the outlet may vary by model and configuration.
To mount the V-flap:
- Mount two half-parts labeled "2" into the body labeled "6".
- Ensure a pin labeled "3" is top oriented.
- Insert the axis labeled "4" into the holes labeled "5" on the body.
- Repeat all operations for the second half-part.

Options for Ventilation
This hood can be set up for either external venting or recirculation of air. The type of setup should be decided before commencing installation.
External Venting
If you have an outlet to the outside, connect the cooker hood as shown in the diagram. Use any suitable extraction duct (enamel, aluminium, flexible pipe, or inflammable material with an interior diameter of 150mm). An adaptor is supplied to connect to pre-existing 120mm diameter ducting. Consider the vent pipe route prior to installation.
- Before installation, turn the unit off and unplug it from the outlet.
- Place the cooker hood at a distance of 65-75cm from the cooking surface for best effect.

Ceiling Mounting and Ducting
The ceiling must bear at least 120kg, and its thickness must be at least 30mm. Drill a 170mm round hole in the ceiling.
According to the hanging board, drill 12 holes in the ceiling. Use 12x ST6*40mm big flat screws to fix the hanging board. Then, use 8x M4*10 screws and M4 nuts with gaskets to connect the angle iron into the hanging board. Calculate the length of the angle iron. Use 16x M4*10 big flat screws and M4 nuts with gaskets to connect the angle iron to another angle iron, ensuring an overlap length of at least 100mm.
Let one side of the expansion pipe go outside through the 170mm hole.
Use 4x ST4*8 big flat screws to connect the inside chimney into the hanging board. Then, put on the outside chimney. A hook will be used to support the outside chimney for the next installation step.
[Diagram Description: Diagrams illustrate the ceiling mounting process, including the hanging board, angle iron, expansion pipe insertion through a hole, and the connection of inside and outside chimneys.]
Fix the V-flaps and converter onto the outlet.
Hold up the hood. Use 16x M4*10 big flat screws to connect the hood body into the angle iron.
Put the expansion pipe on the converter. After ensuring everything is correct, lower the hook and attach the outside chimney. All installation is finished.
Note: The expansion pipe is not included in the product.
[Diagram Description: Diagrams show the V-flap and converter being fixed, the hood being lifted and attached, and the expansion pipe being connected.]
Hints for Exhaust Duct Installation
Follow these rules for optimal air extraction:
- Keep the expansion pipe short and straight.
- Do not reduce the size or restrict the expansion pipe.
- When using the expansion pipe, always install it pulled taut to minimize pressure loss.
- Failure to follow these instructions will reduce performance and increase noise levels.
- Any installation work must be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person.
- Do not connect the ducting system to any existing ventilation system used for other appliances (e.g., warmer tubes, gas tubes, hot wind tubes).
- The angle of the bend of the expansion pipe should not be less than 120°. Direct the pipe horizontally, or upwards from the initial point towards an outer wall.
- After installation, ensure the cooker hood is level to avoid grease collection at one end.
- Ensure the selected expansion pipe complies with relevant standards and is fire retardant.
