Utilization of the Product

When disposing of this product, do not mix it with general household waste. A separate collection system for used electronic products exists in accordance with legislation requiring proper treatment, recovery, and recycling. Please contact your local authorities for the correct disposal method to ensure your product undergoes necessary treatment, recovery, and recycling, thus preventing potential negative effects on the environment and human health.

Important Safeguards

  • Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet and contact a service center for repair if any obvious abnormality occurs (e.g., smoke, peculiar smell, strange sound, liquid spilled, objects fallen into the unit, no picture/sound, broken cover/panel, or if the unit does not work normally after following instructions).
  • The unit can be connected to a power supply outlet with or without a third ground contact.
  • Always disconnect the power cord and antenna during a storm.
  • Do not fix the power cord with a metal nail.
  • Unplug the power cord and signal cables when the unit is unused for long periods.
  • When unplugging, hold the plug by the wide slot, do not touch the metal part, and do not damage, twist, pull, or heat the power cord.
  • Ensure the power is switched off when connecting cables.
  • Contact a service center immediately if the power cord's core is exposed or broken.
  • Replace the AC outlet if the metal bolt cannot be inserted completely or is loose, to prevent shocks and fires.
  • Never touch the antenna or power plug during thunder.
  • Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
  • Do not use non-rated power sockets or daisy-chain devices on a single socket, as this can cause fire due to heat generation.
  • Read and understand all instructions before operating. Heed all warnings and follow all instructions.
  • Use only manufacturer-provided accessories. Inadequate accessories may cause accidents.
  • Adjust the product using panel buttons or the remote controller. Do not remove the cover or attempt self-service to avoid electric shock.
  • Do not press the panel excessively, as it may damage the product.
  • Do not place the product on unstable carts, surfaces, tripods, brackets, or tables, as it may fall and cause serious accidents or damage.
  • Place the product on a flat, well-ventilated surface, away from direct light, sunlight, vibration, high temperatures, and humidity.
  • Do not place vases, containers with liquid, or other objects on the product. Spilled liquid may cause fire, electric shock, or breakdown.
  • Do not install near strong magnetic or current fields, as this may cause breakdown or picture deterioration due to electromagnetic radiation.
  • Fasten the product or shelf with wheels securely if applicable.
  • Do not place fire sources (e.g., candles) near the product.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation by keeping at least 10 cm space above, left, and right of the TV.
  • Route all signal cords behind the rear panel.
  • Do not exert excessive force or touch the panel when moving the product. Do not transfer the TV with the screen facing up or down.
  • Do not transport with the power cord or connection cable connected, as damage may cause fire or electric shock.
  • Transport heavy devices (over 18 kg) with at least two people. Dropping the device may cause damage.
  • The product's body may become warm during extended use, indicating normal heat exchange. Keep children and sensitive individuals away from touching it.
  • All images are schematic and may differ from actual objects.

Installation

Base Installation

Cover a flat, stable surface with a soft cloth. Place the TV unit face down on the cloth. Align the holes on the back panel with the stands and insert them into the slots.

Wall Mounting

  • Separate the stand from the cabinet before wall mounting.
  • The back cabinet has 2 screw holes for wall mounting, with a distance of 100x100 mm.
  • A VESA wall-mount bracket (not included) is required. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage due to improper mounting.
  • Wall or ceiling mounting implements must be durable and sufficient to support the unit's weight.

Connection

Outdoor Antenna Connection

Connect the antenna to the appropriate jack using a 75 Ohm coaxial cable or a 300-75 Ohm impedance converter.

Other Connections

  • Connect audio sources (DVD, VCDR, CAMCORDER, PC) to the 'L' and 'R' audio input jacks.
  • Connect video sources to the Video input using an RCA cable.
  • Plug the power cable into an electric outlet, ensuring voltage compatibility.
  • For use as a computer screen, connect the PC to the VGA jack using a VGA cable (not included).
  • The PC audio input jack connects to the PC's main unit for audio input.
  • If the video source has an HDMI output, connect it to the TV's HDMI input with an HDMI cable (not included).
  • The coaxial output is for transmitting multi-channel sound to an external decoder (e.g., 5.1-CH). Use a coaxial cable for this connection.
  • Connect headphones or earphones (not included) to the headphone socket. Sound output through the TV speakers will be muted when headphones are connected.
  • The PCMCIA slot is for CI modules from your digital TV provider.
  • Use only certified cables and adapters for peripheral devices. Ensure the TV is disconnected from the power supply before making any connections.

Operation

Control Elements

Front Panel

The front panel features a multifunction button. Pressing it displays an icon panel that disappears after 5 seconds of inactivity. Short pressing selects an icon, while pressing and holding activates the function corresponding to the remote control buttons (1-7).

Back Panel

The back panel includes:

  1. Power cable input
  2. Earphone socket
  3. PC input (VGA)
  4. Composite AV input
  5. PC audio input
  6. Antenna input
  7. Coaxial output
  8. HDMI input
  9. USB port
  10. PCMCIA slot

Remote Controller (RC)

The remote control has numerous buttons for various functions, including power, number selection, channel tuning, volume control, menu navigation, source selection, playback controls, and special functions like Teletext and EPG.

Changing the Battery

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the RC.
  2. Insert two AAA batteries, observing correct polarity.
  3. Install the cover back.

The RC should be pointed at the remote sensor within 8 meters and 30 degrees left or right. Remove batteries if the RC is not used for a long time. Do not mix new and used batteries or different types. Weak batteries can leak and damage the RC. Protect the RC from shock, liquids, and high humidity.

General Operations

  • Press the power button on the unit or RC to turn on/off. Unplug the power cable for complete power off.
  • Use VOL+/- buttons to adjust volume.
  • Use SLEEP button to set a sleep timer.
  • Press GUIDE for Electronic Program Guide (EPG), PVR, or Media Player.
  • Press SUBTITLE to select subtitle language for DTV channels.
  • Press REC to start recording in PVR mode.
  • Use the channel buttons (or number buttons) to switch channels.
  • Press ASPECT to cycle through screen display sizes.
  • Press MUTE to turn sound on/off.
  • Press TV/RADIO to switch between TV and radio modes.
  • Select TV function mode and use CH-/CH+ or number buttons for channel selection.
  • Press P.MODE to cycle through picture modes.
  • Press S.MODE to cycle through sound modes.
  • Press DISPLAY to show channel information.
  • Press FREEZE to freeze/unfreeze the picture.
  • Press FAV/LIST to show favorite channels.
  • Press MTS to cycle through Nicam sound modes (if available).

Signal Sources

Press SOURCE, then use cursor or CH+/- buttons to select DTV, ATV, AV, HDMI, or VGA. Press ENTER to confirm.

Teletext Operations

Select TV source, then a Teletext-supporting channel. Use CH-/CH+ to navigate pages. Buttons include ON/OFF (TTX), HOLD, INDEX, SIZE, REVEAL, SUB.PG, CANCEL, and color buttons for direct page access.

OSD Operation

  1. Press MENU to enter the setting menu.
  2. Use cursor or CH+/- buttons to select a setting page.
  3. Press ENTER or VOL+ to go to the parameter list.
  4. Use cursor or CH+/- buttons to select a parameter.
  5. Use cursor or VOL+/-/CH+/- buttons to adjust the parameter.
  6. Press EXIT to quit the menu. Greyed-out items are not adjustable. OSD menu visuals are for reference only.

Channel Setting

Auto Tuning: Press ENTER to start automatic search and saving of ATV, DTV, radio, and data channels. Press MENU during ATV search to skip to DTV search.

ATV Manual Tuning: Set Channel, Color System, Sound System, and Fine-Tune. Use Search (LEFT/RIGHT) to find and save channels.

DTV Manual Tuning: Select channel number using LEFT/RIGHT, press ENTER to start search. Save found channels by pressing MENU to quit.

Programme Edit: Allows sorting, deleting, moving, skipping, and adding channels to favorites.

Signal Information: View current signal status.

CI Information: For encrypted DTV services. Insert CI card into PCMCIA slot. Functionality requires CI card presence. Consult dealer for CI menu changes. Do not insert/remove CI card when power is on or during initialization. Avoid frequent insertion/removal.

Picture Setting

Adjust Picture Mode (Dynamic, Standard, Mild, Personal), Colour Temperature (Cold, Normal, Warm), Noise Reduction (Off, Low, Middle, High, Default), and HDMI Mode settings.

Sound Setting

Adjust Sound Mode (Standard, Music, Movie, Sports, Personal), Balance, Auto Volume Level, and SPDIF Mode (Auto, PCM, Off). AD Switch (in DTV mode) provides audio description for visually impaired users.

Time Setting

  • Clock: Display DTV signal time or set system time.
  • Time Zone: Select your time zone.
  • Sleep Timer: Set automatic switch-off period.
  • Auto Standby: Set period for automatic TV turn-off if no input is detected.
  • OSD Timer: Set duration for OSD menu visibility.

Lock Setting

  • System Lock: Prevents unauthorized operation with a 4-digit password (default 0000/8888).
  • Set Password: Set a custom password.
  • Channel Lock: Lock/unlock specific channels using the Green button.
  • Parental Guidance: Set access restrictions for age-restricted content.
  • Key Lock: Lock/unlock TV buttons.
  • Hotel Mode: Locks the main menu but allows volume/picture/sound adjustments. Channel search is restricted.

Setup Menu

Adjust Language (OSD, Teletext, Audio, Subtitle), Hearing Impaired mode, PVR File System (Select Disc, Time Shift Size, Format, Speed Check), Aspect Ratio, Blue Screen, First Time Installation, Reset, Software Update (USB), and HDMI CEC.

Screen Setting (VGA/PC Mode)

Options include Auto Adjust, Horizontal Offset, Vertical Offset, Size, Phase, and Position Reset for optimal image display.

USB Operation

General Playback Information

Insert a USB drive into the USB port. Select Media source and press ENTER. Choose Music, Photo, or Movie content using cursor buttons. Supported file systems: FAT16, FAT32, NTFS. Supports USB 2.0, up to 2 TB (NTFS). Use licensed USB devices for best results. Playback of some formats may not be supported. Supported video files include ASF, AVI, MKV, MPG with codecs like WMV9, DIVX, H263, MPEG-4, MPEGII, XVID. Supported audio codecs include WMA, MP3, DD(AC3). Note: AVI files exceeding 2 GB may play partially. USB devices drawing over 500 mA require external power. Using incompatible or defective USB drives can cause damage. Avoid USB drives with BIN files in the root directory.

Operations of File Playback

Insert USB, select USB source via SOURCE button or RC/unit buttons. Navigate content menus using cursor buttons and ENTER. Press ENTER to play. During playback, press ENTER for playback menu, or pause/resume with , stop with . Music files can be fast-forwarded/rewound with / . Photo files can be paged with / . Rotate images with LEFT/RIGHT. Press EXIT to return to the previous menu.

Causes of Interference

While the TV has interference elimination measures, local radiation can affect picture quality. Proper installation and aerials are key safeguards. Potential interference sources include:

  • RF INTERFERENCE: Moving ripples from short-wave radio equipment.
  • DIATHERMY: Herringbone patterns or partial picture loss from diathermy equipment.
  • SNOW: Weak TV signals from distant stations causing a snowy picture. May require antenna adjustment or amplifier.
  • GHOST: Multiple images caused by signal reflections from surroundings. Minimize by adjusting aerial position.
  • CAR IGNITION: Streaks or picture roll from nearby cars and electric motors.
