HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless Quick Start Guide
Overview
This guide provides instructions for setting up and using your HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless headset.
Headset Components:
- A - Status LED: Indicates headset status.
- B - Power button: Turns the headset on/off and checks battery level.
- C - Mic mute / mic monitoring button: Toggles microphone mute and mic monitoring (sidetone).
- D - Volume wheel: Adjusts volume level by scrolling up or down.
- E - USB-C charge port: For charging the headset.
- F - Microphone port: For connecting the detachable microphone.
- G - Detachable microphone: Removable microphone.
- H - Microphone mute LED: Indicates if the microphone is muted (On = Muted, Off = Active).
- I - USB adapter: Wireless connection adapter.
- J - Wireless status LED: Indicates wireless connection status.
- K - Wireless pairing pin hole: For pairing the wireless connection.
- L - USB-C charge cable: Cable for charging the headset.
Usage
- Connect the wireless adapter to your device.
- Power on the headset by holding the power button for 3 seconds.
Button Functions:
- Power button: Hold for 3 seconds to power on/off. Press to hear battery level voice prompt. The status LED automatically turns off to conserve battery.
- Mic mute / mic monitoring button: Press to toggle mic mute on/off. Hold for 3 seconds to toggle mic monitoring on/off.
- Volume wheel: Scroll up and down to adjust volume.
Setup with PC
- Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray.
- Select "Open Sound settings" then "Sound control panel".
- Under "Playback Device", set "HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless" as the default device.
- Under "Recording Device", set "HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless" as the default device.
- Follow the instructions on the DTS instruction card (L) to enable DTS Headphone:X for enhanced audio.
Setup with PlayStation 5
- Navigate to the homepage and select Settings > Sound.
- Under "Microphone", set the "Input Device" to "USB Headset \"HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless\"".
- Under "Audio Output", set the "Output Device" to "USB Headset \"HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless\"" and "Output to Headphones" to "All Audio".
- Follow the instructions on the DTS instruction card (L) to enable DTS Headphone:X for enhanced audio.
Charging
It is recommended to fully charge your headset before first use.
Charging Status LED Indicators:
- Fully Charged: Solid green.
- 10% - 99%: Breathing green.
- < 10%: Breathing red.
The status LED will automatically turn off to conserve battery life.
HyperX NGENUITY Software
Download the NGENUITY software from hyperxgaming.com/ngenuity. Features include:
- DTS Headphone:X
- Adjustable EQ settings
- Adjustable auto shut-off behavior
- Battery level indicator
Status LED Indicators (Pairing/Searching/Connected)
- Pairing: Green and red lights flash every 0.2 seconds.
- Searching: Slow breathing green.
- Connected*: 90%-100% solid green for 5s; 10%-90% blinking green for 10s; <10% blinking red for 5s.
