Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off

Connect the transceiver to a stable 13.8V DC power supply. Turn the main power switch located on the front panel to the 'ON' position. To power off, turn the switch to the 'OFF' position.

Frequency Selection

Use the tuning knob or direct frequency entry keypad to select the desired operating frequency. The selected frequency is displayed on the LCD screen.

Mode Selection

Press the mode buttons (SSB, CW, FM, AM) to cycle through or select the desired transmission/reception mode. The active mode is indicated on the display.

Volume and Squelch Control

Adjust the VOL knob to set the audio output level. Use the SQL knob to adjust the squelch threshold for FM operation to eliminate background noise when no signal is present.

Transmit Operation

Press the PTT (Push-To-Talk) switch on the microphone. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT switch to receive. Ensure the correct mode and frequency are selected before transmitting.

Maintenance and Care

Keep the transceiver clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaners. Ensure ventilation slots are not blocked to prevent overheating.

Periodically check the DC power cable and antenna connections for any signs of damage.

Troubleshooting

No Power: Check the DC power supply connection and voltage. Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position.

No Transmit: Verify that the PTT switch is being pressed and that the microphone is properly connected. Check that the unit is not in a transmit inhibit mode.

Poor Reception: Ensure the antenna is properly connected and tuned. Check the squelch setting for FM mode. Try different modes (SSB, CW) for weak signals.

Always operate the transceiver from a stable DC power source within the specified voltage range.
Do not expose the transceiver to rain, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
