Preparation

• Remove the two rear lights (except Golf V).
• Remove the bumper.
• Remove the absorber.

Mounting

Diagram Description

The diagram shows a tow bar assembly. It features a main horizontal bar with a receiver hitch, connected to two angled arms that extend towards the vehicle's chassis. Attachment points are indicated by 'X' on the chassis and corresponding points on the tow bar arms labeled 'V' and 'W'.

Steps

• On the outside of the spars, remove the paper frames obstructing the attachment points (X).
• Insert the 2 towing arms into the spars and attach them, without tightening, with nuts and bolts X.
• Assemble the towing body to points V and W with the nuts and bolts V and W.

Finishing

• Tighten all screws to the specified torques below.
• Reassemble the bumper.

Note: Connecting a universal wiring kit (ref. 8526) is absolutely impossible on this vehicle (may cause damage). It is essential to use either a dedicated wiring kit or a relay box (ref. 8530).

Torque Specifications
