Clear and Simple

Getting to Know Your ZTE Fanfare™ 2

Proximity and light sensor: Located near the earpiece.

Headset port: For connecting headphones.

Indicator light: Provides notifications.

Earpiece: For listening during calls.

Power key: Turns the phone on/off or puts it to sleep.

Camera lens: For taking photos and videos.

Status and notification bar: Displays icons for signal, battery, time, and notifications.

Volume key: Adjusts the ringer and media volume.

Microphone: Captures audio for calls and recordings.

Back key: Returns to the previous screen.

Home key: Returns to the main home screen.

Recent apps key: Shows recently used applications.

Charging/data port: For charging the battery and connecting to a computer.

Phone Setup

  1. Place your finger in the slot at the bottom of the back cover to lift and remove it.
  2. Hold the micro-SIM card with the cut corner as shown and slide it into the card slot.
  3. Insert a microSDHC™ card with gold-colored contacts facing down.
  4. Align the back cover with the back of the phone and press it into place, ensuring all tabs are secure.

Note: Use only a standard micro-SIM card provided by your service provider.

Touch Screen

Navigating your phone: Press and hold the screen to unlock.

Use your fingertip to lightly touch the screen. Use quick flicks to swipe up, down, left, and right. Spread two fingers apart or pinch them together to zoom in or out.

Returning to previous screen: Tap the Back key.

Returning to main home screen: Tap the Home key.

Accessing Google Now™: Press and hold the Home key.

Accessing recently viewed apps: Tap the Recent apps key.

Accessing applications: Tap Apps.

Notifications panel: Tap the top of the screen and drag your finger down to see notifications and quick settings.

Clearing notifications: Swipe right or left to clear individual notifications or tap to clear all.

Personalize

Set wallpaper: Press and hold a blank part of the home screen, then tap Wallpapers. Choose a wallpaper and tap to set it. You can also choose from GALLERY or LIVE WALLPAPER.

Add to home screen: Tap Apps, press and hold a desired app, and drag it to the home screen. Alternatively, press and hold a blank part of the screen, tap Widgets, and drag a widget to the home screen.

Organize home screens: Press and hold an icon and drag it to a new location or to a folder. To rename a folder, tap it, then tap the folder name, enter a new name, and tap Done.

Change theme or effects: Press and hold a blank part of the screen, then tap Themes or Effects.

Calls and Voicemail

Make a call: From the home screen, tap Phone. Type a name or number, or tap to enter a number. Tap the matching contact or to place the call.

Check voicemail: From the home screen, tap Phone, then tap #. Press and hold the 1 key.

Use call waiting: While on a call, you will hear a tone if another call comes in. Tap to answer the new call and put the current call on hold, or tap to merge calls or switch between active calls.

Text and Picture Messaging

Send a text message: From the home screen, tap Messaging. Tap New message. In the To field, enter a number or contact name, or tap Contacts. Type your message in the Type message field. Tap Send.

Send a picture message: Follow steps 1-4 for sending a text message. Tap the Paperclip icon ?. Tap Picture and select the desired picture. Tap Send.

Email

Email setup (Gmail™, Yahoo!®, etc.): From the home screen, tap Apps > Email. Select an account type, enter your email address and password, and tap Next. Confirm settings and tap Next. Name the account and enter your display name, then tap Next.

Create and send an email message: From the home screen, tap Apps > Email. Tap Compose. In the To field, enter an email address or name, or tap Contacts. Enter a subject and message. To attach files, tap Menu, then tap Attach file and make your selection. Tap Send.

Value-Added Services

My Cricket: Access billing, make payments, and view usage.

Cricket Wi-Fi Manager: Connects to free Wi-Fi hotspots to save data.

Visual Voicemail: Quickly access and play voicemail messages.

Deezer: Ad-free streaming music and customized playlists.

Selfie: Quickly take selfies using the front-facing camera.

AskMD: Get personalized health consultations.

Apps on Google Play™

Access Google Play: From the home screen, tap Play Store. Enter your Google account or create one.

Navigate Google Play: Browse by category or use the Search function to find apps, games, and more. Tap an app and follow instructions to install. Installed apps can be found in Apps or via a notification.

Note: A payment method is required to purchase apps.

Camera and Video

Take a picture: From the home screen, tap Camera. Zoom using pinch gestures or the Volume key. Tap the Shutter button to take a photo. Tap CAMERA to adjust settings.

Take a video: In camera mode, tap Start recording ▶️, Pause recording ⏸️, Resume recording ▶️, and Stop recording ⏹️. Tap VIDEO to adjust settings.

Share a picture or video: From the home screen, tap Apps > Gallery. Tap an album, then a photo or video. Tap the Share icon ? and select an option.
