This manual provides instructions for setting up and using the August DVB-T405 Freeview TV WiFi Transmitter. It supports Freeview TV transmission wirelessly to your Apple or Android devices.
Safety Instructions
Storage and Usage:

Disconnect external cables before cleaning. Clean the device and buttons with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cloths, detergent powders, alcohol, benzene, or chemical cleaning agents.

Parts Identification
The device features the following:
- 1. Antenna Port: Connect your antenna here.
- 2. Power Indicator LED: Shows the power status of the device.

- 4. Charge Indicator LED: Indicates charging status (red when charging, turns off when fully charged).
- 5. Power Switch: Turns the device on and off.
Installation and Connection
Before first use, recharge the internal battery by connecting the power cable to the DVB-T405 and a powered USB port. The charge indicator LED will be red during charging and turn off when complete.
- Download the "August 405" application from the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). Alternatively, scan the provided QR codes for direct access to the application page.
- Connect the DVB-T405 to an antenna. A rooftop antenna is recommended for the initial channel scanning process.
- Turn on the DVB-T405. The indicator LED will blink before becoming solid.
- Connect your smartphone or tablet to the WiFi network named "WiFi TV xxxxxx". If you are unfamiliar with your device's internet settings, please refer to its user manual for more information.
- Open the August 405 application on your device.
- Navigate to "Settings - Search Channels". Select your country from the list and tap "Search".
- Once the channel search is complete, tap "Done" and then "Live TV" to start watching television on your device. The list of channels will be displayed. Select your desired channel to begin viewing.
Signal Strength Note: Please be aware that signal strength in certain areas may be insufficient for channel reception when using a portable antenna. Signal strength can be influenced by the distance to the nearest transmitter and other factors such as surrounding buildings, your home's walls, weather conditions, and electromagnetic interference from power or telecommunication infrastructure. Moving the device may improve reception, and using a rooftop antenna will provide the best possible reception.
Using the Device
When watching live television, tap the screen to display the program information bar and control buttons.
6.1 Live TV
- 6.1.1 Close TV Viewing: Tap "Done" to exit the live TV view and return to the list of available channels.
- 6.1.2 Channel Control: Tap < or > to go to the previous or next channel in the list. Tap the name of the currently viewed channel to access the channel list. Alternatively, swipe left or right to change channels.
- 6.1.3 Settings Wheel: Tap < > to display the list of available audio languages. For Apple devices, this will also display display settings.
- 6.1.4 Volume Control: Tap <)) > to access the volume control bar. Use the bar to increase or decrease the volume.
- 6.1.5 Display Settings: Tap the display settings icon to access the list of different display formats and change them. For Apple devices, Display Settings can be accessed directly via the Settings menu.
- 6.1.6 Record: Tap <● > to start recording the current channel. Recordings are saved to the internal memory for Android devices and to iTunes for Apple devices. They can be viewed via the "Recordings" menu (see 6.2).
- 6.1.7 TimeShift (Live Control): The TimeShift status bar allows you to control live playback, enabling you to rewind, pause, or fast forward the program being watched. The status bar shows which part of the TimeShift is currently being viewed. To rewind or fast forward, slide the status bar. Tap < || > to pause the current program and <►> to resume playback. For adjusting the available time for live control, please refer to section 6.3.5 "Live TV Buffer".
- 6.1.8 Channel Status and Information: The status bar for the currently viewed channel provides access to channel information, the current program, and the next program (if available).
6.2 Recordings
In the main menu, go to "Recordings" to access your recorded programs. Tap on a recording to view its information and select the option to play or delete it.
6.3 Settings
- 6.3.1 Search Channels: The channel search menu allows you to perform a new automatic channel scan. Select your country from the list and tap "Search". Once the search is complete, tap "Done". The channel list will then be displayed. Select your desired channel to start watching.
- 6.3.2 Sort Channels: To reorder the available channel list, use <= > to drag a channel to the desired position.
- 6.3.3 WiFi TV Settings:
- Automatic Shutdown: This feature allows you to cut off any connection between the DVB-T405 and your device after a period of inactivity. Select between 5, 10, or 30 minutes of inactivity to enable automatic shutdown. The DVB-T405 will then cut off all connection and transmission once the set inactivity time has elapsed. If "Never" is chosen, the DVB-T405 will remain connected and transmit until it is manually turned off. When the automatic shutdown mode is active, the indicator LED will blink every 4 seconds. To reconnect to the DVB-T405, turn it off and then on again.
- Battery: The battery icon indicates the status of your DVB-T405's internal battery. When the battery is low, the icon will turn red, indicating that you need to recharge the DVB-T405.
- WiFi TV Info: You can find specific information about your DVB-T405, such as the tuner type, IP address, and the option to reset to factory settings. When "Factory Reset" is selected, a confirmation window will appear. Confirm the reset by tapping "Reset". All customizations will be lost upon resetting.
- 6.3.4 Device Selection: If multiple DVB-T405 devices are in close proximity to your device, use this option to select the one you wish to connect to.
- 6.3.5 Live TV Buffer: The buffer memory for live control can be modified. If your device has insufficient internal storage space, you will need to adjust the available buffer time, reducing the space required for live control. Slide the bar to choose the available time, and slide it all the way to the left to disable the live control and recording function. The duration of the Live TV Buffer depends on your device's internal memory.
- 6.3.6 About: The "About" section allows you to access information related to the application and the device.
Recharging the Device
To recharge the device, connect the power cable to the DVB-T405 and a powered USB port. During charging, the charge indicator LED will be red and will turn off once the battery is fully charged.

Troubleshooting

Warranty
This product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of original purchase. In the unlikely event of a failure due to a defect in materials or workmanship, the unit will be replaced or repaired free of charge (if possible) during this period. An equivalent product will be offered if the product is no longer available or repairable.
This warranty is subject to the following conditions:
- The warranty is valid only in the country where the product was purchased.
- The product must be correctly installed and used in accordance with the instructions provided in the user manual.
- The product must not be used for purposes other than domestic use.
- The warranty does not cover the main unit, and does not cover accessories.
