JBL Headphones App
Enhance your listening experience with more control and personalization using the free JBL Headphones app.
Available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
How to Wear
- Try Different Sizes: Experiment with the included S/M/L ear tips to find the perfect fit for optimal audio performance. The ear tip should seal comfortably in your ear canal.
- Proper Placement: Insert the earbud into your ear and gently twist it backward to secure it in place. The JBL logo should be oriented correctly.
First Time Use
Before first use, ensure the earbuds are placed correctly into the charging case. The earbuds will automatically power on when removed from the case.
Power On & Connect
- Power On: The earbuds power on automatically when removed from the charging case.
- Connect:
For Android™ 6.0+ devices:
- Open your device's Bluetooth settings.
- The device will detect "JBL VIBE BUDS". Tap to pair. The device will be tied to your Google Account (Fast Pair).
For other devices:
- Enable Bluetooth on your device.
- Select "JBL VIBE BUDS" from the list of available Bluetooth devices to connect.
Dual Connect
The JBL Vibe Buds support Dual Connect, allowing for flexible listening modes:
- Stereo Mode: Use both left (L) and right (R) earbuds for a full stereo audio experience. Both earbuds are placed in the charging case.
- Mono Mode: Use either the left (L/R) or right (L/R) earbud independently for mono audio. One earbud is placed in the charging case while the other is in use.
Controls
The earbuds feature touch controls. The functions can vary based on single, double, or triple taps, and holding the touch area.

VoiceAware
VoiceAware allows you to control how much of your own voice you hear during calls. This feature can be adjusted via the JBL Headphones app.
In the app, navigate to 'VoiceAware' settings and use the slider to adjust the level (Low, Mid, High).
Power Off
To power off the JBL Vibe Buds, simply place both earbuds back into the charging case. The earbuds will automatically disconnect and power down.
Manual Setup
Connect to a New Bluetooth Device
If you need to connect to a new Bluetooth device, ensure the earbuds are discoverable. You may need to put them in pairing mode by holding the touch area on both earbuds for 5 seconds until the LED blinks blue.
Factory Reset
To perform a factory reset, place both earbuds in the charging case. Then, simultaneously touch and hold the control areas on both earbuds for 5 seconds until the LEDs indicate a reset (e.g., flashing white/blue).
Do More with the App
The JBL Headphones app provides extensive customization options:
- Ambient Sound Control: Adjust your awareness of surroundings.
- Ambient Aware: Lets you hear more of your surroundings.
- TalkThru: Lowers music volume and amplifies voices for conversations without removing earbuds.
- Customized Gesture: Reassign touch controls for volume, playback, or voice assistant.
- Equalizer: Fine-tune your audio experience with preset EQ modes (e.g., Jazz, Vocal, Bass, Extreme Bass) or create custom settings.
- Call Control: Always accessible when receiving a call.
Charging
To charge your JBL Vibe Buds and their charging case:
- Place the earbuds into the charging case.
- Connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging case and a power source.
⚡ Charge: 🔋 → 2HR (Approximately 2 hours for a full charge from empty)
⚡ 10 MIN Charge: 🔋 → UP TO 2HR 🎵 (10 minutes of charging provides up to 2 hours of music playtime)

Important Battery Information
To prolong battery lifespan, fully charge the earbuds and charging case at least once every 3 months. Battery life varies by use and settings.
